Gigantic pile of chorillana

If you've never had Chilean chorillana, stop in here. This is all they serve (plus beer, wine, soft drinks). Order one for the table and you'll get a huge plate of fries, meat, onions and eggs. A gut-bomb for sure filled with carbs, but unique. The restaurant is an antique museum of sorts... read more

This place is DIRTY. I had a cockroach on my table the last time i came. "chorrillana" is a plate of fries, beef, fried onions and fried eggs. Nothing fancy, and is the only thing this place serves. Portions of food are good, enormous, but food quality is just bad, and is not so hard to make a Chorrillana yourself... More

This was very odd. It's a café/museum. Every inch of space is stuffed with items in/on cabinets - the sort of things you might find in your Grandparent's loft but multiplied several times over! (ornaments, glass vases, china plates and cups, coins etc) The well known dish 'Chorillana' was the only food offered to us and a plate for 2... More

The restaurant is very tradicional, full of figurines, posters and details. You can (and must!!) write a little msg in the table or walls, and you can have a nice time reading the rest of the msg of the differents visitors from around the globe. The main attraction (besides the decoration!) is the best chorrillana in town, a mix of... More

You may not be bounding with energy after this meal, but it's still worth checking out J Cruz. A lot of locals seemed to be eating there, which is always a good sign. I'd recommend getting one order of Chorillana per two people, as it's a lot of food! The dish consists of pieces of beef, fries, eggs, and onions,... More

The dish was ok, but the atmosphere is amazing! Nice and friendly people and good music! It is worth it to wait a few minutes to get in and get a seat!

They only serve one dish chilliranos: basically steak frites, served on top of fries, it's the only dish and it's good. It's down an alley and serves mostly the locals. Rotating musicians come through playing their guitars. if you remember The Raw Deal in Austin, this is similar to that wonderful restuarant

J Cruz is the home of Chilean well know "Chorrillana", a dish to share made up of french fries, fried onions, sautéed beef and scrambled eggs. This dish goes well with cold beer and might cause you stomachache and heartburn later. A guilty pleasure for many, myself included! The service at J Cruz is okay in Chilean standards; highlight: the... More

Nice place to stop by for a drink. I had their signature drink, the Terremoto (earthquake). It is a cheap and terrible tasting alcoholic drink. Terremoto is made with unfiltered wine, grenadine and pineapple ice cream. This is definitely not the place for a healthy meal. The signature dish is the choriollo a fat and carbohydrate bomb. Absolutely disgusting.
