Stopped in on a holiday because it was one of the few restaurants open close to our hotel. The service was excellent, and the waiter even provided an English menu which was essential for us. We had the abalone empanadas and parmesan razor clams. Both were delucious. We thought the prices were good, servings were large, and drinks were strong.... More

I'll get the good points out of the way, the restaurant is in a nice building, courteous staff, and when we asked to return and change an order, they didn't question our request. Now, the bad. We started with an order of razor clams au gratin (machas a la parmesana) which was made with pregrated bagged parm that sort of... More

Authentic Chilean seafood in charming building. It was close to our hotel so walked over. Reasonably priced.

We ate here our second night in Santiago. I had a seafood chowder which was good but my wife had a fish au gratin that she was not crazy about. The service was good and the wine menu was reasonable. We actually went back a second time.

I had machas (Chilean clams) with Parmesan cheese as a starter and a great ceviche as the main course. Service is ok, not always very fast. However, the food is excellent and the place has a nice atmosphere. Compared to general prices in Chile the anker ("El Ancla") has a good price-quality relation. Expect to spend some 20 to 25... El Ancla is a restaurant that makes you feel at home. We had one of the most enjoyable dinners here during our recent vacation in Santiago. Of course the food served here is very good, but the warmth and friendliness of this place make your experience even more rewarding. We had our table in the room facing the street. The... More

I've been to this restaurant twice and both times the experience has been fantastic. The food is delicious, but my advise is to order one starter to share and regular main courses, because the portions are generous ... especially the mussels!

The service was attentive and helpful and the portions were huge! Excellent quality and value. (I took the left-overs back to the hotel to enjoy the next day...and the day after that!)

I was invited by a local friend to go to the restaurant and was positively surprised, by both the food and service. We had three aptizers: Locos (very good), Erizos(not my favorite, but for lovers of it, they are huge!) and Machas (excellent). All of them very fresh. Go with open mind and stomach and enjoy it. Service was friendly.

We (two couples) visited this restaurant early one evening. Service was friendly and efficient. For main course, two of us ordered swordfish (albaroca), one of us had salmon and one had chicken. All of the dishes were cooked to our liking, and none were overcooked. The portions were large - we ordered two portions of 'fritas' and this would easily... More
