2nd night in Santiago and we needed to make up for last night's disappointment. This place looks great from the street and it's just around the corner from our hostel so we dropped in. Attentive service and very tasty food followed. I had fish in a spicy sauce, as recommended by the waiter and my partner got a steak. Both... More

We were staying in the Lastarria area of Santiago. It was our first night in Santiago. I used the Tripadvisor app to locate restaurants near us and El Txoko came up on the list. We are living in Buenos Aires so we're a little done with steak. What a great find. We have been to Spain on several occasions, and... More

Had read and heard a lot about this Basque restuarant in the district of Lastarria. I was however along with my other two friends, very disappointed. The presentation was nothing special and the food that we had was greasy. On the one experience I had, I would not go not go back. The wine was however good. One of my... More

We keep on coming back! Whenever we visit another place, we regret not having gone to El Txoko Alaves. Great dishes every time.

We had high hopes for this restaurant and were really pleased with the bread basket that was provided. When our food arrived we were shocked as to how generous the portions were. The food was good - not amazing. Biggest criticism was the poor service.

We had a great lunch at this Basque restaurant in the Bellas Artes region of Santiago. For the equivalent of $20 each we had a three course meal which included a glass of wine and coffee. The special starts at 12:30 but the staff took us early (12:00). For "The Beautiful Game" fans there are banners and team shirts from... More

We didn't actually have a full meal, just a bit of pintxos and a couple of drinks, but I was a majorly impressed. A proper old bar. A great place to pull up a stool and spend a lazy hour or two.

This is one of the besty Spanish restaurants in Santiago. It has a Basque twist. I have been here several times over the years and always look forward to returning when I visit Santiago. They have an excellent " menu del dia" at 10,000 pesos or $20 US. The menu is generous and vaires each day. This time my friend... More

This is a very nice authentic place, I always take the menu of the day and almost everytime I am more than happy. A lot of homemade food: for $10 000 you have a pisco, a starter (seems always like a main dish), then the main dish, always huge, then the dessert, then a coffee, and all this with a... More

Went to this place for lunch on a weekend and it was so packed we had to wait 30+ minutes for a table (it's our fault since we had no reservation). Once seated the service was very efficient which is rare in Santiago. I had a started of Paella which was very good and a main of salmon which was... More
