I think the El Cid chef is one of the bests in town; not as much assortment as I will desire but flavor, sophistication, presentation and mixture of ingredients makes every plate an experience of out of this world. Hosts are very kind and give good tips about dishes; specially, Fernanda, she will remember your name each time you comeback... More

As this was my first trip to Chile I wanted to try a few unusual appetizers rather than commit to one appetizer and one entree. Now, two weeks later, I'm having to rely on notes I took during the meal to even remember what I had. The octopus and squid salad was tough and chewy. (I've eaten tender versions of... More

We went there staying at the hotel without know what to expect. Everything was pleasant. We had both local and international very good food. Good selection of wine and superb dessert. Very warm attentive service. Price is reasonable. It deserve your visit, also if you are not a hotel guest.

The mussels for the appetizer were fine. The butter chicken required me to recheck the menu as the dish seemed at odds with the description. The food was good and that combined with a pleasant room seemed to promise a pleasant evening. But at 9 pm a huge influx of diners pushed the service into a nose dive that it... More

My husband (Chilean) and I went here for a late Valentine's Day celebration. We live in Santiago and had been waiting to go here for a special occasion, given all the good press and reviews it's gotten. We had high expectations as it's known as the 2nd best or best in the city, but we're not overly picky, usually flexible... More

If you're willing to splurge $80 for a single lunch, consider El Cid at the Sheraton in Santiago. Service nets an A+ and the buffet alone will make you want to come back for more. I had the most excellent Osso Bucco along with three glasses of Chilean wine. By the time I left I was in 7th Heaven. Walking... More

It's funny but when I travel around the US I'm always prejudicial about hotel restaurants. I use them as a last resort. That said, it would be a BIG mistake to do that with El Cid. This place is just great as it is. The ambiance, service and specially food is fantastic. It's really an international type restaurant more than... More

The menu has many great offerings. The service started off great and the Amuse Bouche was a nice touch. The service and attentiveness petered out quickly though.
