Disappointing experience as I had high expect ions for this place considering that it has been featured in trusted sources. I ordered Causas as well as the ceviche trio and for dessert I ordered the fried bananas. The Causas and Ceviches were delicious. The dessert was not good as the banana was very tangy and the ice cream it was... More

We tried the Astrid y Gaston restaurant in Santiago after a memorable dinner at the original restaurant in Lima, Peru, three years ago. This dinner will also remain our memory as one of the best we ever had. This cozy restaurant also has a great wine list reasonable priced, yeah!... and old world type service with older men in full... More

A very nondescript building in apparent suburbia from the outside opens into a warm welcoming environment with a small bar but several rooms and open spaces hiding a surprisingly large number of diners. As is often the case in Santiago there are only one or two waitstaff with more than rudimentary english - just an observation - it's not their... More

This restaurant is probably the most internationally know restaurant in Lima. We have been here twice in 2 years. Gaston Acurio is Limas most famous chef, outside Peru we have been at his restaurant at the Mandarin hotel in Miami, but this restaurant is a more formal one.The cuisine is an interpretation of the classic Peruvian cuisine. I tried the ceviche, excellent, but you... More

During my three weeks traveling through Peru recently, I learned to love Peruvian food. When I saw there was one near my bed and breakfast in Santiago, I just had to try it out. I was very satisfied with my dinner at Astrid y Gaston. The food was delicious. I had Causa (a tasty filling sandwiched between two layers of... More

I had very high expectations for this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The oisco is delicious, ceviches were very fresh. Wine, main course, everything was excellent. Service was perfect, everyone was very nice and attentive. Will definitely go back.

I am surprised by some of the less than positive reviews I read here before and after our trip. The restaurant was recommended to me by an American acquaintance who is married to a Chilena and lived in Santiago for a long period of time. The service was excellent. And every dish we had was very good. I visited with... More

Booked at fairly short notice and got a table for 8.00pm. Thought the food and service was very good. It always worries me when they place the wine about 6 feet from the table as it means the service has to be good! Fortunately it was and I didn't have to ask for the bottle! I see it has had... My sincerest apologies to readers for writing a review for a place I didn't get a chance to eat at BUT I did honestly try... We took a cab to this restaurant (which by the way doesn't have any commerce or other restaurants very close to it) at around 4pm for a late lunch. Unfortunately they had finished lunch service... According to the rumour the bast of Santiago. It is not. Verything they did coudl have been easily better, starting from the pisco sour, the service, the bread and the dishes served. Not bad, however average seems to be the rights calssification. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay.
