The Galeon is one of the most luxury restaurant in the Mercado area. The service is very dynamic, you can find some Dominican and Haitians waiters. I tried the Galeon Special, a very mix dish with different seafood. If you want to try the real taste of the seafood . You can find excellent prices, and have a very delicious... More

I went with a friend and we had really good seafood and pasta, service is ok, although prices are a little bit expensive they aren't that expensive. It's a good option if you go to Mercado Central.

We where referred to this place by our driver as the place to eat at the markets if we wanted great seafood. It was absolutely crap, the seafood dishes where so over cooked and tasteless along with the king crab, it's a tourist trap and would advise to eat somewhere else

Outside of the market, one is bombarded with waiters trying to entice you inside.m the food was OK, not terrific, but they do give you a free pisco sour when you come ine. We had a seafood sampler platter and a wonderful bottle of wine - carmenere grand reserve.m in sum, an OK play e to have lunch at the... More

We selected this restaurant at Mercado Central as the markets were recommended for its seafood restaurants. El galleon relies on its smooth talking 'touts' for want if a better word but I did not find them over intrusive. The wait staff were very friendly and the venue had the advantage according to my teenage boys of not reeking of the... More

All the hype for nothing. We totally bought into the idea of fresh seafood at the market. Alas, this was not as romantic as it seems. The best thing going for this spot is its friendly staff... And maybe the french fries. Other than that, undercooked over priced fish.

Really not good, my fish was uncooked and the food had no flavour.. Would have loved the fresh fish market food but instead was the only thing decent was a pizza and the English speaking waiters. Service was good though

Damn was this place expensive. Food was ok, but really, we found it to be just a tourist trap. We ended up here thanks to a 'suggestion' from our guide. Even though food wasnt bad, the quality to price ratio was nowhere near decent. An example, a sea food platter, for 3 people, was over a $100US, for a place... More

Upon arriving at the Mercado Central, a young man ushered us into this restaurant. Having just arrived after a long flight from the U.S., we were starving. After sitting down, we looked up the reviews of this restaurant, and were a little upset by the negative reviews. But we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had fresh fish in galic, with a... More
