This restaurant, in my opinion, is a smaller version of La Olla (in fact, I believe the owners of the 2 restaurants are brother and sister). The dishes offered are basically the same, and the prices are comparable. La Olla is a grander place, but Chamaca Inn has the benefit of being downtown. In terms of food, you're getting simple,... This was a nice surprise! We were hungry and walked in to an almost empty restaurant we noticed while we were doing initial exploration of the town. It is handy to be on the American schedule for meals rather than the South American because they eat so late. The waitress was so friendly, but spoke no English. We could communicate... More

Just eaten an excellent meal of more types of fish than I can count in ceviche and congrio in seafood sauce as well as salmon, very good fish, brilliant staff and an amazing price w a Chilean sauvignon blanc. Deserves to be up there with the top.

We went to Chamaca Inn based on the recommendation of our hotel staff who insisted that seafood here was “fresher than anything at Angelmó” in Puerto Montt. It turned out they were both right and wrong. Although the seafood was fresh, the preparation of what we ordered (ceviche, merluza, chupe de locos, etc.) was basic and far below expectation, with... We wnt there this sunday, and found the place full. Service was fast, but the food was not more than average, or maybe just below average. I had a seafood platter with peppers and garlic, and all tasted the same. I found it all overcooked. My sons fish tasted strange. There are better alternatives in Puerto Varas, and I will... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local in Puerto Montt - and we were really glad we went. It's very unprepossessing from the outside, but the service and food were really good. Friendly, homely people serving delicious food in simple surroundings. Just up the hill from the Mercado Principal (market). Well worth it.

I ate a relatively inexpensive Salmon lunch here. I ate salmon 4 times and this restaurant had the best preparation and the only one who removed the salmon skin and the dark meat from the preparation. It was very tasty with shrimp sauce on top.

Varied seafood and fish menu - very good salmon in shrimp sauce. Very friendly service. Not the best Pisco's (ready made from a bottle) and a surprisingly big bill at the end. Would reccommend given other choices in the town.

Food is good but the service is bad. Horrible owner. We were 4 people at lunch time and one of them was my boyfriend who almost ate a piece of metal string that was on his caldillo de mariscos. When we told the owner (a fat lady with no education at all) she said that we were lying, so we... More

You can eat sea food and fish ,specailly salmon, buy plates are quite expensive , service was not so good when we went . as they were quite busy and had no time . Not good for a romantic dinner ,as decoration is basic ,and too much light .
