Nice find

Located in the Arab quarter of Singapore it is as its name suggests a cafe. WE shared a mezze with a basket of bread for a light lunch. We also had a pot of mint tea for 2 which was superb. At approximately £18 it was reasonable in a city known to be expensive. The Arab quarter is worth a... read more

Situated amongst the fabric and carpet traders in Arab Street, within walking distance of the Mosque and Malay Cultural Centre, this is the place for great, tasty North African influence treats and good coffee - iced on a hot day! Good value mezze platter, think hummus, baba ganoush, olives, pickles, breads and the like. Nothing fancy, but worth a visit... More

Got this place in Lonley planet guide What a disappointment £25 for a one mezza and horrid felafel which tasted like nothing. As someone who is half arab and have eaten Arabic food all my life I turkey never had worse Arabic food and paid so much for it! The food was tasteless they brought 6 bits of bread and... More

Good middle eastern food, but not the best atmosphere or service. They do have WiFi which is a bonus, but the restroom is like something from the Saw movies. The pita sandwiches are amazing and the meat succulent. Service was fairly slow and I had to go inside to find them to pay.

Stopped in for a quick meal at a table on Haji Street. The waiter recommended the Kabsa Lamah. I also ordered a Mango Juice, but that didn't arrive until I asked for it when the main course was delivered. The flavor and spices for my plate were very good and the rice was good, too, but Kabsa must mean "knuckle"... More

Was a bit hard to find as we were looking for the restaurant name, but suddenly realized that the board says Al Majlis. Don't expect a great decor, the ambiance is of a typical cafe. The food was great though. We ordered Hamas and pita bread and the portion was generous.. kebabs and falafel were great. A bit disappointed with... More

We had chicken tagine and some lamb rolls, it was very disappointing. This restaurant is overrated and quite expensive for the quality of the food. Quality of the products and cooking are just good. I wouldn't advise it to anyone.

Had the falafel wrap. Came with decent fries . Sauce was generic chilli sauce served in a olastic to-go container. Staff were around but didnt pay much to me- a solo diner. Was surprise by the taxes and service fee when i went to pay the bill..

Affortable pure Middle Eastern food in Arab St. Tried their chicken & beed kebab. And few other desserts! Remember to try their Bavlava coz it is so amazingly nice & sweet. Pretty cosy ambience at night. Lovely! Feels like a lil fine dining experience with a candle on the table. Staffs are friendly but fierce looking. However its closes a... More

It's like I went to a different restaurant to the other reviewers. Really? The food was as per the title and the service was not much better. For a place surrounded by lively bars, cool cafés and quirky shops, this was disappointing.

This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly colored fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs.
