Focus on the sashimi, stay for the mart

My family is a big fan of Sakuraya. We enjoy the novelty of picking the slices of sashimi fillets for slicing, and the visual treat of the entire range of fresh seafood we could pick and choose. The cooked foods are so-so. The food mart next to it has Japanese foods and goods that you could... read more

~Went to the one at Anchorpoint ~wife keeps going back & dragging me along, not that I'm complaining. This place is absolutely SHIOK! this time our youngest came unwillingly but happily after :) ~This time I saw huge GIANT shellfish freshly available (see photos) ~Salmon Sashimi is a generous portion you pay for exactly what it weighs ~this time I... went for lunch at the Anchorpoint outlet. we ordered a Unatama Don, 1 salmon maki, 1 chicken karaage. Since it was lunch time, we understand the busy and quite a wait for our orders to finally arrive. Although the foods are delicious, its the service that force me to rate this place as average. we have to call the waiter... More

The family is a regular visitor to this Japanese restaurant. They import the fish and have well trained chefs. The staff are friendly though short staffed. The decor has no soft furnishings so, when full, the surrounding noise is noticeable. We never leave unsatisfied.

We have been coming here for a two years now. Always nice Shashimi and the staff is great. The salmon (from Norway) is always fresh and delicious. We will continue to frequent this place!

A friend introduced the west coast outlet to try and now we usually go to the the Anchorpoint outlet as its nearer to where we live. The range of sashimi is good and we get to eat the fatty tuna or tuna belly cuts in addition to the standard items like salmon, sword fish, tuna, sweet prawns etc. The cooked... More

My husband and i are great fans of this place, we go to the one at anchorpoint whenever we need authentic sashimi fix. Every thing we chose was so good. We also like to order the grilled stuff and tempura and everything else. Service is quite fast during lunch but dinner can be slow sometimes. Go early so you can... More

Sakuraya is in a mall, and not a great ambience, but it is not only s great restaurant but a very good fish market and Japanese grocery. Choose superb fresh fish for Sashimi. Great sushi, cooked food is excellent. Extensive and reasonably priced sake and Sochu list. But order one or two items at a time, or everything will arrive... More

I've actually visited Sakuraya many many times over the past few years, either the one in West Coast Plaza, or the one in Anchorpoint. They're equally good. The selling point of Sakuraya is fresh sashimi, at very good price. We may have different orders every time we visit, but salmon and shrimp sashimi are always a must. Wafu salad is... More

Dine in with my family recently for dinner. The quality of the food is good especially the Cold Tofu with Japanese sauce and the Fried Chicken. The Grill Calamari was pretty tasty as well. However, for the service, it was slow when serving the rice when other main dishes have already served. Practically, I have to reminded them few times.... More
