Fabulous food at reasonable prices

Hidden in a run-down mall, the interior of this cosy Japanese restaurant definitely looks better than the mall, and serves unexpectedly fabulous food. Best Yakitori I have had in Singapore to be exact. They have seasonal specials and everything was so good that you would want a second helping. This... read more

I frequent this restaurant since more than 20 years. The quality of the food is excellent. Its not so expensive as other Yakitori restaurants. Although the place is hidden in the far east plaza, its always packed. Outside of Japan this is my favourite Yakitori restaurant. I would recommend this place to everyone

Many years ago in the early 90s some friends who had worked and lived in Tokyo began to introduce us to Japanese cuisine in its many forms. One of the great things about Tokyo is the easy way you can find compact eateries with great hospitality and food. So, the discovery of Nanbantei in Singapore in the 90s was a... More

Have been going to this restaurant for the last 20+ years. Their set lunch is really value for money and the quality is there. Advice is to book or be there really early as it is always packed.

Had dinner here tonight. Excellent food - sashimi, grilled Saba, shiitake mushrooms, meat balls, tofu soup and much more. Service was quick and friendly, atmosphere authentic Japanese. We brought our own wine - $30 corkage ! Strongly recommend.

If you are aiming to savour on mid-range priced Japanese cuisine in Singapore and do not want to be spitting on your way out, this place is one of the rare few you should go to. I had my dinner there tonight, which I have always wanted to revisit, for my last visit to the place was more than 10... More

Was recommended by a friend to try out at this restaurant. Wanted to have yakitori and didn't know where's the best place to go. It was my first visit there, food was satisfying! I recommend to get the Saahimi and Yakitori course with an additional order of a garlic rice. It was just nice for 2 pax! Staff will serve... More

I have been a regular patron to this outlet for their affordable set lunches. There are wide selections of Japanese Bento with my personal favourite as the Yakitori set. Yakitori sticks are well seasoned, great favours and neatly presented on the Bento box. The showmanship of the Yakitori chefs are delectable. From fresh raw ingredients to cooked, taking place right... More

Nothing fancy but a nice n warm friendly place. I had the Sgd13.50 yakitori set lunch. The barbecue items were done just right. The chicken balls were delicious - crispy on the outside, nice and it dry. I like the service because though was lunch time, the staff give me ample time to browse thru the menu. The ala carte... The staffs were friendly, thus no complaints for the service. Quality of food is indeed fresh! Food serve hot but too fast.
