Review with phtots: http://shrimp2.pixnet.net/blog/post/106144211 We insisted to have our "late dinner" at Founder Bak Kut Teh Cafeteria after arriving BIG hotel around 10pm. It's very convenient to get a taxi in Singapore, except perhaps during certain public holidays. Note: you could go to a taxi stand, make a booking via phone/internet (extra charge). Pork rib soup (bak kut teh): The... More

First time I saw this restaurant in TripAdvisor after been eating there for like 10 years. I can't believe its not in the top 10 restaurants in Singapore. Sure the place is not really that fancy, but it had the best BKT and Pig's Trotters you can have ever. My family has been addicted to it for as long as... More

After saw a few days, so many people queue at the outside, we tried once. After ordered, then we disappointed, since the ribs was very tough and hard to beat. We think, SongFa is quite better, quality & price, also if you order bean. We just wondered why people still want to queue for bad ribs? Not recommended. But its... More

We thought it was to be a long wait due to the queue outside but after taking our orders at the door, we were ushered in to our table immediately. We ordered the "long ribs" ($9) which comprised of two shorter-squarish ribs and only 1 long rib. Quantity wise, I expected the bowl to be filled with 3 the long... More

Balestier Road (and nearby Rangoon Road) boast of many Bak Kut Teh (BKT) shops and restaurants. Be prepared to queue for a table. We waited for 10 minutes lagrely because there were only 2 of us. We noticed medium to big groups had to wait logner. The BKT here is light in taste. The pepper taste is not as strong... More

We had visited this restaurant in June, as we were staying around the area. Queue wasnt too bad at 1pm on a Sat afternoon. We had 2 short ribs and a meat soup, for the 3 of us, along with the mushrooms and vegetables. Lots of meat for the 3 of us, barely finished it - meat was fresh and... More

In the fighting world of what is the best bakkut teh in singapore, i can only say, to each its own. The founder bakkut teh is located at balestier road. It is very easy to spot this place. Just look at the long queue in front of the restaurant, and "Ahaaa!" You found it! Inside of the restaurant, you can... More

although it boasts a number of other non bak ku teh dishes, the bak ku teh here is diluted, with loads of msg and salt. it charges much higher prices when compared to its competitors. the place looks dirty, old and non appetizing too. it is also strange that the crowds can be very long at peak hours. certainly not... Finally got to go in without queue at about 11plus. The food was kinda dissapointing because the soup wasn't very hot & more of MSG salty taste. Well, it has its good sides to it too, they were relatively decent meat given in a bowl of BKT.

There are basically two places I go to for Bak Kut Teh in Singapore... One is Heng Heng, when I feel like having a light soup base that isn't overwhelmed by pepper, down side being that the pork at Heng Heng is a little too dry for my liking... Or there's Founder.. Where the pepper (love it or hate it)... More
