We had visited this restaurant in June, as we were staying around the area. Queue wasnt too bad at 1pm on a Sat afternoon. We had 2 short ribs and a meat soup, for the 3 of us, along with the mushrooms and vegetables. Lots of meat for the 3 of us, barely finished it - meat was fresh and... More

In the fighting world of what is the best bakkut teh in singapore, i can only say, to each its own. The founder bakkut teh is located at balestier road. It is very easy to spot this place. Just look at the long queue in front of the restaurant, and "Ahaaa!" You found it! Inside of the restaurant, you can... More

although it boasts a number of other non bak ku teh dishes, the bak ku teh here is diluted, with loads of msg and salt. it charges much higher prices when compared to its competitors. the place looks dirty, old and non appetizing too. it is also strange that the crowds can be very long at peak hours. certainly not... Finally got to go in without queue at about 11plus. The food was kinda dissapointing because the soup wasn't very hot & more of MSG salty taste. Well, it has its good sides to it too, they were relatively decent meat given in a bowl of BKT.

There are basically two places I go to for Bak Kut Teh in Singapore... One is Heng Heng, when I feel like having a light soup base that isn't overwhelmed by pepper, down side being that the pork at Heng Heng is a little too dry for my liking... Or there's Founder.. Where the pepper (love it or hate it)... More

The food was very tasty - strong peppery broth and juicy meat - and is served quite quickly. It's not a fancy restaurant but for a quick dinner it works wonders. We visited the restaurant because we had seen it was always busy with long queues outside - so come early or prepare to wait outside. Be advised that most... More

Very good ribs and soup. The side dishes are also OK. Prices are quite reasonable. The service staff don't speak much English, but you can get by using sign languages :)

When my order came I was surprised it turned out Bahkuteh in Singapore unlike I have ever eaten in Penang and KL . Here Bahkuteh more clear broth with white pepper aroma was very sharp in malaysia over dark sauce and spices feels thick. BKT Malaysian style pork ribs are in addition to mushrooms, tofu and vegetables as a complement,... More

What has gone wrong in Singapore? Is the squeaky clean healthy attitude even spoiling the taste of god bak kut teh? This restaurant used to serve the best Singapore style BKT back in the 1990's. I used to go a lot on business trips and decided recently to try to re-discover the old place. Well I couldn't find the old... More
