Enjoyed a piece of history

We did what all tourist do, and visited Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling. Super expensive at $30 a pop. But you aren't just paying for the drink, but for the history. Would definitely recommend, great experience.

Visually very pretty but the layers and layers of tourism and not one but multiple souvenir shops have robbed Raffles of any historical vibe.

On a 24 hour trip to Singapore, I stopped by with a friend to have the infamous Singapore Sling drink at the Raffles Hotel. The hotel is gorgeous, historic, the staff are impeccably mannered and kind and it was a great relaxing afternoon. While the drink itself is overpriced and not as great as you would think it would be,... More

Lovely hotel, great atmosphere. Stopped in at the long bar for a Singapore Sling. Ridiculously expensive for a cocktail, but if you want to say you've had one at the Raffles that is where you go. Also this year is the 100th anniversary of the Singapore Sling. Has a great little museum, which is really interesting and some nice little... More

Took the family to Raffles to attend the Long Bar for the Singapore Sling. To have a look around the Hotel is free and worth while due to the history of the place. We had a Singapore Sling in the Long Bar and the children enjoyed eating the peanuts and dropping the shells on the floor. Would recommend to go... More

I would advise that if you are not a sweet tooth, do not order the infamous Singapore Sling as it is really really too sweet for my liking. Whilst the band is very friendly and there is a dance floor to facilitate your fancy, I feel that the place is getting a little tired.

We had to come to the iconic Raffles which sadly has become a shopping centre for overpriced tat and services. We went to the Long Room for the obligatory sling which cost 31 s$ each, PLUS 10% service charge and 7% tax, so over 100 dollars for 3 glorified fruit juices. The place was heaving so I suppose they just... More

For some reason having a Singapore Sling at Raffles hotel seems to be one of these things that everybody simply has to do. I've done it and now I can move on with my life. If you didn't pick up the insinuation with that last sentence I say that because it wasn't the best experience that I have every had.... More

Ooof. Unless you're a resident can't get into the beautiful main hotel. Went to the Long Bar AVOID! hot packed with tourists throwing pistachio shells on the floor, tiffin room heaving, had 'sling' in courtyard bar (charming bar staff) wholly overated & VERY expensive! (for a grainy alcoholic fruit juice)...
