We were recommend Raffles to try a Singapore sling... but beware of the ridiculous drink prices (and considering the size of the drinks actually shocking). The experience is interesting but you can find better and cheaper Singapore slings else where.

Its a cool looking hotel and a beautiful bar (Long Bar), staffed by harried waiters who are SICK of tourists ordering Singapore Slings at $27 each. Yep. At least I had some peanuts to keep me company and you'd better believe that I ate all of them to get my money's worth from that $27 drink!

as others have mentioned, it is extremely busy at all times in the long bar. We managed to get a seat amongst all the peanut shells on the floor on the table. You are given a bowl of peanuts and everybody just throws the shells wherever they like. Singapore slings were okay but the service was little slow and the... More

Ofcourse not to miss this colonial building. It is very nice to walk through the courtyard and arcade to get an impression of the building before you enter the Longbar for a Singapore Sling. The waitress will ask you if you are a guest of the hotel or not, when you enter. The section closest to the door is for... More

The courtyard is a oasis away from the craziness of the city. Very quiet and relaxing. An excellent place to have one of Singapore's must do. A Singapore Sling at Raffles. By far the best I have tried. They use a special type of pineapple which has a less sweet flavour, along with the gin, cherry brandy and DOM Benedictine.... More

Everyone should visit the bar at Raffles at least once to experience the peanut shells on the floor, the unique ceiling fans and the (expensive) Singapore slings which made this place famous.

Yum Cha, sandwiches with no crusts, pettit fours, cakes, fruit, jelly. scones jam and clotted cream what a feast.. Champagne, Tea and Coffee flowed while the music was played of course on a Harp. If you have the chance take it,... More
