Tiffin at Raffles is a "must do"

I waited for 15 years to accomplish a childhood dream of having Tiffin at Raffles Hotel. It was superb and well worth doing.... along with the Singapore Gin Sling at the infamous Long Bar. Raffles is an iconic hotel with a long history which you immediately sense as soon as you enter. Looking a... read more

A beautifully maintained historic building. Quiet elegance and attentive service. Due to a misunderstanding about our arrival time our room was not ready when we checked in, we had to wait approx 30 minutes, which is annoying after along flight, otherwise our stay was most enjoyable.

We had breakfast in this room during our stay at Raffles Hotel. It was a delightful experience due to the great variety of food and the wonderful staff who assisted us at every opportunity. The range was too large to detail here but it would satisfy all travellers both culturally and quality. All food was fresh and in abundance -... More

This place was a must see on our visit to Singapore. However it was extremely disappointing. The Singapore Sling was watered down - hardly the beautiful red color in our tour book - more like a pink color. The food was so so especially for the price. But the service was even worse. Took an extremely long time to place... More

We treated ourselves to dinner in the Tiffin Room at Raffles as a special occasion. The iconic hotel is beautiful, with suggestions of its classy, colonial past, but the quality of its food and friendly,, efficient service is right up to date and superb. The Tiffin Room offers a buffet with a great range of Indian style dishes. Everything we... More

Like many people I have long had romantic notions of going to the Long Bar at Raffles Hotel and ordering a Singapore Sling. Unfortunately the hotel has turned this desire into a rather taudry tourist destination. Polite and immaculate staff guard the main entrance of the hotel and tourists are corralled round the side entrance and through the courtyard and... More

Visited this landmark Hotel. Wandered around it and eventually settled down in the Courtyard for a light lunch and a drink. Atmosphere was very good and not too busy. Plenty of waiting staff but they brought a 7-up instead of still water for my wife. Then after a little longer than we expected we got a mushroom bruschetta instead of... More

We meet up with family members in the Long Bar to have a Singapore Sling and a bite to eat. The service was friendly, the food is bar food which was very good and lots of it. There is a good atmosphere due to the fact that it is mostly tourists there to have a drink and eat some peanuts... More

This is a “must visit”. Thus the original bar isn’t open for public (only for hotel guests), the replacement is a reminder of the past, as it’s decorated in an old style. Order your drinks, peal peanuts and throw the shells on the floor! This is the place where the original “Singapore Sling” was made. The prices are high, but... More
