Good little izakaya - shame about the construction work

This is a fave place – do note construction work - I arrived early and was annoyed to find that our reserved table was right next to a hoarding and blocking the river view. They changed the table though. There are decent tables next to the square (which may be full of kids scootering about in the... read more

I visited Shunjuu for dinner recently with my wife. Currently there are some building works going on outside the restaurant where we sat but the person who made the reservation did not warn us of this, suggest you take note and tell people! The food was average considering the price, I think I will stick to my usual yakitori place.... More

Four of us hit this place after a few drinks and this place let us be ourselves, awesome tuna sashimi, salmon wrapped in bacon.....like that would be bad anywhere..... The mushrooms were the best I've had, I don't like mushrooms and these were cool, hot sake flooded the table during it all, we ate more but things got blurry, sorry!... More

Waste of time and money. Baby portions. Not really tasty. For starter fresh cabbage leafs and kind of something in the wood clue with no taste.

I went here tonight for the first time, I thought the service was great and it was a nice atmosphere and very clean. It was my first experience of Japanese food and I enjoyed it as its a novelty to myself on the different approach to the meal. I was brought cabbage with a sauce and kim chi. I then... More

We found this place just walking around Robertson Quay and it was one of the most crowded. We gave a try and the food was fine, nothing especial, but as we ordered few dishes it can make you feel full without having to spend the same as other restaurants in the area, where bills will be much higher. We seat... More

Went here with a large group and enjoyed the outdoor environment in Robertson Quay. The area is filled with hip bars and restaurants which help create a buzzy but relaxed environment perfect for a balmy hot evening in Singapore. Unfortunately the food was just reasonably average with adequate representations of Japanese yakitori and sashimi. Maybe worth a look if you... More

Great place to go for relaxation. Amazing choice of skewer-grilled or simmered dishes, that are all very yummy. They also have sushi/sashimi, but I wonder if they get the best seafood since not too many people order those dishes. Good selection of sakes, sochus and Japanese beers. In addition to the usual yakitori dishes, a paradise for amateurs of less... More

Took an outdoor seat by the singapore river on a hot balmy evening. Service was ok, mostly young staff who seemed quite eager to help. We ordered a selection of their meat on sticks - oysters, beef, chicken, pork belly. They are mostly ok with the only standout being the oyster. The rice balls were disappointing and dry. The garlic fried... More

Situated in the lively but not too noisy Robertson Quay area, this Japanese restaurant offers a wide range of 'izakaya' style dishes i.e. small bites of various sorts, including grilled dishes, simmered dishes, sashimi/sushi and muc more. You could eat here every night for a fortnight and still not necessarily exhaust the menu's whole range. Service is generally efficient and... More
