Visited the place as recommended by friends. The restaurant is just 5 minutes away from the airport. We ordered the sizzling spicy fish, beef stew (chaolong), french bread, pork spring rolls and garlic rice. All the dishes were very cheap with their most expensive ones (shrimp/squid dishes) that cost for only Php 150 each. Their menu have a wide variety... More

It was a rainy afternoon in Puerto Princesa and we were looking for somewhere to eat before we head to the airport for our flight back to Manila... Our tricycle driver suggested Rene's Saigon and since we're fans of Vietnamese cuisine, we readily agreed! The place is like a big nipa hut and we ordered their beef stew with rice... More

My second time here, couldn’t remember what I ordered before but this time, I had their famous Beef Stew with rice noodle for Php80 (that’s pretty cheap for pho) and Fresh Shrimp Spring Roll with Pork for Php120. I wanted to try their French Bread unfortunately, they ran out of it. Beef stew was very tasty! However, the restaurant is... More

Wait, how come there's authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Palawan? Well, not many will remember that Palawan was one of the few places that opened its doors to Vietnamese refugees fleeing from the effects of the Vietnam War. In return for the hospitality shown them by the Palawenyos, the Vietnamese gave the gift of the secrets to their cuisine. Rene's Saigon... More

Personally entertained by 46 yr old Rene who is a 2nd generation Vietnamese refugee. Great food and service. We paid only US$12 for multiple lunch order for 3 people. Rene will also give you tips on how to enjoy your vacation at El Nido, Coron, & Puerto Princessa. One mile ahead on the same street ( Rizal St ), you... More

The prices were reasonable so I ordered the spicy squid with rice. The squid was just okay, a bit too oily for me really, perhaps next time i should try their french bread which is what they're known for.

Just loved the food at Rene Saigon!! Everything we ordered was just delicious. The beef stew was delicious, the fresh pancit with beef was divine. And the vietnamese iced coffee was just perfect with the food. Will definitely come back here if given the chance to go back to Palawan.

We tried a bunch of the Vietnamese restos here in Puerto and Rene's gets my vote for best garlic bread. It's the real deal holyfield. Home made, crisp, copius amounts of butter and garlic. Delish.

Big servings for the price we paid. It was pretty cheap. Its near the airport. We ate here before our departure. Tried their chao long, french garlic bread and pork and shrimp spring rolls. Pretty good! Though the spring rolls were not as good as those I tried in hanoi.

This restuarant was just a few meters away from the hotel where we stayed so we gave it a shot. We came here for lunch and ordered their famous rice noodles and french bread. Their rice noodles was good and so was the french bread. The price was cheap. The place was not crowded and the ambiance was good. I... More
