Paid a visit to Rene's resto, situated at the quiet end of Rizal Avenue, a small quaint restaurant, where we were desperate for lunch before heading away from Palawan again. I had one of my favourite Vietnamese dishes Pho bo, and my partner had sizzling fish, with a very nice special fried rice. Apparently a family restaurant, with possibility to... More

Our dining experience at Rene's Saigon during our Palawan visit is really nice. It's my parent's first time to dine in a Vietnamese inspired restaurant and I must say that Rene's Saigon made a good impression not only for me but for my family too... Their Beef Noodle is the best and Spring Rolls both fresh and Deep-fried are a... More

The fresh rolls and french bread with bbq were delicious. The owner was very accommodating he even served the iced coffee we ordered. The food should not be missed because it is AUTHENTIC Thai cuisine.

Must try their Chao long! and the staffs are very accomodating. Peaceful and quiet. TIp: Put on some bug repellant if your visiting at night but aside from that, place is very good!

Visited the place as recommended by friends. The restaurant is just 5 minutes away from the airport. We ordered the sizzling spicy fish, beef stew (chaolong), french bread, pork spring rolls and garlic rice. All the dishes were very cheap with their most expensive ones (shrimp/squid dishes) that cost for only Php 150 each. Their menu have a wide variety... More

It was a rainy afternoon in Puerto Princesa and we were looking for somewhere to eat before we head to the airport for our flight back to Manila... Our tricycle driver suggested Rene's Saigon and since we're fans of Vietnamese cuisine, we readily agreed! The place is like a big nipa hut and we ordered their beef stew with rice... More

My second time here, couldn’t remember what I ordered before but this time, I had their famous Beef Stew with rice noodle for Php80 (that’s pretty cheap for pho) and Fresh Shrimp Spring Roll with Pork for Php120. I wanted to try their French Bread unfortunately, they ran out of it. Beef stew was very tasty! However, the restaurant is... More

Wait, how come there's authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Palawan? Well, not many will remember that Palawan was one of the few places that opened its doors to Vietnamese refugees fleeing from the effects of the Vietnam War. In return for the hospitality shown them by the Palawenyos, the Vietnamese gave the gift of the secrets to their cuisine. Rene's Saigon... More
