GREAT AMBIANCE

Food was good, menu was not that extensive, service was good, atmosphere was excellent. It was something very different...a bit aprehensive with the no shoe policy but once in the place realized how clean it was....

We spent two weeks on Palawan and had amazing and excellent time with one letdown: food. The local cousine just could not impress us, regardless whether we went to local eateries or mid-range to higher end restaurants. Mind you, we lived in China for four years and Philippine cousine is nowhere near the flavors and richness of real Chinese food... More

This is one BEAUTIFUL restaurant! i just fell in love with the interiors and the garden. It is full of charm and romance. Even the ladies' restroom was something else. The food was ok, we ordered tuna and it was dry. The prawns were delicious and the drinks were good. I would consider it a "date" restaurant. You have to... More

I loved the food here. Quite difficult to get a reservation as no one was answering most of the time. The lato which was part of the set menu we got was the best part in dining here.

Reservations recommended. Expect to remove your shoes upon entering, and remain barefoot throughout meal. Some seating on floor cushions. Nipa hut with hardwood floors and throw rugs; and decor was eclectic from modern art to tribal to fresh fruit. Many wandered around taking photos of different parts of the restaurant. Restrooms also nicely decorated. Service was good. Food - filipino... More

Nothing beats the native atmosphere of the place (so far)! I just love it! Fell in love with all the decor and the little details like removing footwear before entering, sitting on the floor, having a huge traditional vase/jar to hold water for washing... and the washroom was the most unique and beautiful one I have ever seen. Service was... More

It was our last day in Puerto Princesa, so my boyfriend and I decided to eat at Kalui restaurant as this is one of the island's top rated restaurants. The place and ambiance is nice and very traditional. The Balete tree inside the restaurant is a nice touch. We ordered a few of their dishes which included the tubbataha salad... More

My mom and I had lunch here. Ordered the Ka-Lui set for the day. Which comprised of soup, prawns, some fish, and eggplant. Also ordered seafood sisig on the side. Absolutely love the food. The restaurant interior is very interesting, loved how the owner/artist combined bamboo wood and all indigenous materials. It's a unique experience. I Just wished that there... More

Kalui has a beautiful interior, very clean, lots of cool art, and the nicest bathrooms I've seen in SE Asia. That's where the positives end. There are only about 5 items to choose from so we ordered the set menu for two.The food was just okay, tuna was way overcooked, prawns were in an awful sauce & the fruit bowl... More

having dinner at kalui ruined our honeymoon. We have had our last dinner in palawan at this restaurant and among others, we ordered sashimi garnished with seaweeds.on the same night, we had to go to the bathroom for a hundred times, and when we got back to manila, the doctor told us that we got food poisoned.. we already called...
