Hemingway's is a small beachfront bistro on Sabang beach, Puerto Galera. This full-service restaurant claims to have some of the best steaks in the Philippines. I have to agree it is some of the best I've had, however this review is about dessert; bananas flambé. Have one with a cup of coffee and house Brandy. The good: the bananas flambé,... More

Amazing imported steaks, wonderfully cooked, but dig deep into your pockets for the final bill can be a bit of a shock......Once in the holiday is enough, service is getting worse compared to recent visits over the years, would generally agree with other comments on this aspect.... Still a good dinning experience, but it used to be a great one.....

Apparently my boyfriend and I are not the only ones to be disappointed with Hemingways in recent months.based on the other reviews we have been reading. Average and slow service and OK food. We were a bit surprised as it had been highly recommended especially being located right on the beach.

I used to like this restaurant for several years, but it has deteriorated markedly, what seems to have to do with the previous chef leaving the place and opening his own restaurant. The prices is extremely high, what was even a draw back when the food was still excellent. Nowadays it only can help driving prospective diners away who still... More

Been there on my last visit to PG in April 2014. Sabang itself is certainly a controversial resort area. Many businesses taken over by Korean owners throughout the years, sewage goes unfiltered right into the ocean and the smell at the pier is unbearable at times. The Hemingway is owned by a German national and service was excellent, so was... More

Not much to say; it was pretty average in terms of quality, and not particularly inexpensive. We probably wouldn't go back unless someone else was paying.

We went and ordered a variety of steaks, both the imported from the US and the Angus Certified steaks (the most expensive). Interestingly enough, the more affordable regular imported steaks were better than the Angus certified steaks. For the sides, the rosti was a good side, but the spatzle not so much. Steaks come with soup and salad, both of... More

Hemingway's has a wide selection of dishes. Having been there a few times over the course of a week, I've had the chance to sample a few of them, and I'd say they're all pretty decent! Do try the steaks if you get the chance. Service is fantastic (Hi, Hilda!), and they were more than happy to replace my overcooked... More

Great location looking out into the sea and the boats passing. They have a great selection of European and Pilipino food and is always reliably good. They also do great omelettes for breakfast.

The outdoor setting on Sabang beach was nice. Unfortunately, we went on Christmas day, so maybe that explains the terrible service. My meal (bbq seafood plate) was inedible, but some of my companions enjoyed the local kinilao (ceviche with ginger) and curry.
