Yu Djum seems to be the most popular Gudeg restaurant in Yogya, where it has several outlets. The one that I know is located near the airport. The big plus is that they are set-up to quickly prepare take-away packages for people who want to take the gudeg with them on their flight home. Gudeg is a Javanese dish with... More

With a very reasonable price (1 portion with chicken would cost you about Rp.20K-30K... More

You have to come early at lunch time, otherwise you cannot get the parking and you will have to wait to get your gudeg. It's a bit too sweet to my taste buds, sweeter than any other gudeg. Recommended

Gudeg is a staple traditional food of Jogya and if you are there you need to at least try it once. A plate of steaming hot rice with the dishes that make up a "gudeg" ( chicken, egg, jackfruit, krecek, chips) is great for any meal of the day. Yu Djum (that's her name) is one of the famous Gudeg... Just eat my first Yu Djum gudeg. It's sweet and smoky gudeg, really special on my taste buds. I could feel the authenticity of this Jogja gudeg. The sambal krecek condiment also give a nice touch to balance the sweetnees of gudeg

Gudeg is one of the signature dish of Yogyakarta. I've been to several Gudeg restaurant in the city, but I believe Gudeg Yu Djum has one of the best taste. Friendly staff, simple and traditional serving style, and warm Gudeg in your stomach. Just feels right.
