You should try it when in Yogyakarta

Gudeg is the authentic Yogyakarta Cuisine. Yu Djum is one of the best Gudeg in Yogyakarta. Gudeg is a meal with sweet taste. It includes rice, gudeg itself, chicken, krecek, boiled egg. If you want to go there, it's bettet to avoid lunch or dinner hours...

There are two types of "Gudeg" wet or dry. Gudeg Yu Djum is cooking style is dry while others like Gudeg buTjitro cooking style is wet. You could choose to your preferences. But both are genuine Jogjakarta Local Food. As standard dishes you'll get white steam rice, gudeg and krecek (a bit spicy) for additional topping you could choose Tahu... More

Gudeg Yu Djum is the best gudeg in Jogja.. love the taste, sweet but not too sweet, and a bit spicy but not too spicy. If you like spicy food you can add "cabe rawit" to make it spicier.

Usually in yogyakarta I will choose this gudeg. The gudeg its self not too sweet and little dry. The krechek crisp beef skins is delicious but becarefull since its quite hot. One of western friend got stomach problem perhaps its too hot for them. For Indonesian, the typical hot is still acceptable and usually hotter means delicious. You could order... More

I find it a bit sweet and dry. Try once, and don't think will try it again as I prefer it to be more spicy..

This is not just my opinion, my son and I tried many different gudeg restaurants, warung and kaki lima and Yu Djum is the best. My friend born and bred in Yogya always takes new visitors to eat at Yu Djum.

For me, this is the best gudeg in Yogya. Deep-cooked young jackfruit, combine with the egg or chicken. Its 'sambel goreng krecek' is also great. Just beware that Yogya foods are tend to be sweet, a bit too sweet for most people that are not familiar with.

Im hard core vegetarian and i fully 100% recommend this restaurant to anybody since it really is the most tasty Gudeg in all Indonesia, yes, i have tried many, And its totally vegetarian, made from Jackfruit. So so delicious. Easy to walk to from Malioboro since its close to the Kraton. Dont miss this one once in Yogjakarta.

Everyone loves this place. My father and I can't even think of other places but this one. The food is so original, the service is good and the taste is so unforgetable.
