First of all I want to tell you that I rarely eat gudeg, but three days I went to Yogya there was no day without Guseg Yu Djum! My driver took me to Gudeg Yu Djum Pusat, which is the main kitchen. They have many branches around Yogya, but you must try this place. so oldschool, still traditional house style.... More

It might be too sweet for some people but for my family who has 'Javanese tounge', this gudeg is very nice. Compare to other gudeg restaurant, this is more like a 'dry gudeg style', the chicken is very tender and the egg is soft, not too spicy also. We went to Yu Djum resto in jln.Wijilan, the place is quiet... More

You must order the complete menu to taste how delicious it is. ❤️❤️❤️ I love the boiled egg, krecek especially, areh (the coconut) & gudeg itself (it from jackfruit)

We are the die hard types.... eating and travelling the local way to enjoy the food, people and the places we tour. Indonesia is not new to us as we have travelled here many times and we firmly believe the cuisine differs in each city. Yogja is my first but my hubby's second visit. As it is our first evening... it was just too sweet for me! and the krecek was also not hot, I'd rather try the Bu Widodo gudeg which is located just 3-4 shops apart.

No one of the staff speaks English so we ordered something what the waiter pointed out for us. Looked like chicken but tasted like #!+%. I understand that this is traditional, local food but I didn't like any of it. So we paid and left.

the gudeg served here is very sweet tasting, as well as spicy. Try it yourself if you want to have a taste of the famous traditional food. I ate at the near Malioboro branch.. the place is ok but semi open air, so expect people smoking and street singers coming into the small restaurant.

I didn't try Gudeg Telor. Always sold out when I want to buy it. Maybe it's too delicious? I don't know.. But Gudeg Ayam it's good too

Great taste if you want to try real Gudeg Yogya traditional food. Providing a nice "kendil" (placing your complete Gudeg food), if you want to take away and bring it as a gift.

The meal is pretty ok. Not so yummy as I imagined, but yeah I enjoyed it. It seems like they lack of staffs to help cleaning up and serving. The staff looks like still under-age, but I'm not sure though. The price of the meal is also pretty make sense.
