This restaurant was quite good, but it was a bit pretentious for me. The food was tasty, but it wasn’t cheap, and I still felt hungry once I had finished my main course. Fortunately they did have some good chocolate bars for sale. It is down a tourist street, so it is geared for the more comfort orientated Westerners. The... More

Well, this is a first time for me at Via Via. I was expected a bit more for the food. I tried ice lemon tea and penne aglio olio (vegan version). The ice lemon tea is not having a good sensation of lemon, it's only plain and when you added sugar the taste you'd get is sweet and a very... More

Hi there, Thank you very much for your review! I am sorry you were disappointed with the food. The Penne Aglio Olio is a traditional Italian pasta made simply with olive oil, garlic, chili and Parmesan cheese. We got the recipe from a homesick Italian traveler once. Although it is a popular dish, I personally tend to agree with you... More

Thank you very much for this review! I am happy you enjoyed your stay! We have live jazz every Friday night. In addition, we organize events whenever something exciting comes our way. This restaurant is geared towards Westerners with bland Indonesian food and okay Western dishes. If you are looking for an authentic Indonesian restaurant, skip this place.

Liked the salads there: sundried tomatos, peccoriono cheese and avocado! Their indonesian dishes are also very nice. All of their lassies are also highly recommended

Despite staying on the other side of town this place was worth a trek each day. Excellent food which is reasonably priced and served by very friendly staff. It was just a great place to hang out in the heat or at the end of a busy day.

A lovely restaurant with a real traveller theme. The atmospere is great and the food good. Local musicians visit regularly and if your lucky you can have a massage at the same time. The local drinks they serve can be recommended! The shop and travel bureau that forms part of the same shop are a bonus.

I went here in September 2012 for lunch with my boyfriend. It was a first visit for me but he had been there a couple of times. Lovely small place, love the ambience, the decoration, the food was nice and the price was just right. We ordered different kinds of salad, sandwiches and fresh drinks. That warm day in Yogyakarta... Dear Detania, Thank you very much for this good review! I am very happy you enjoyed your time with us! In September 2012, you either saw the exhibition "Just because I love you" by Daging Tumbuh and Friends or "Ora Ubet Ora Ngliwet, Ora Oba Ora Mamah" by Erwan "Iwank" Hersisusanto. Both excellent! We just celebrated 17 years of contemporary... More
