not for those with low chili tolerance

I love the dishes served here. As I rather have high chili tolerance, this is one of few restaurants that could match mine. It is a little bit unusual, as usually Javanese food have rather sweet taste. But I enjoy the different taste served here.

May be this restaurant is only suitable for people who love spicy Javanese Food. The taste is average nothing special. The ambient is good, you can choose to sit indoor or outdoor. But I don't like the rest room, it was so messy and it did not slit for ladies and gentleman. Rest room is one of the most important... More

Impressive laid-back atmosphere with great Indonesian food in traditional presentations. There is quite some variety even though the food is all Indonesian. Would have appreciated an English-speaker to explain/describe menu options so I could make my own choices, instead of solely relying entirely on my hosts' choices.

The place lil bit hidden among the houses but I love the ambience make me feel like at my grannies home. Love the food, you can order or you can directly pick food (prasmanan style) near the entrance you can see many side dishes. note : watch out with the mosquitos because the place so shady with lot of trees... Delicious food, typical Indonesian menu, especially Javanese. Friendly staffs, unique restaurant. Beware of mosquitos, I was there in evening and yes they enjoyed my blood while in the same time I bite delicious Mbah Jingkrak spicy chicken hahaha. Prices really cheap, of course, if you compare it to Norway. Didn't need long time for food to come, fresh taste and... More

I don't think their menu are special. So I call it my mom's menu serve ala restaurant. Most of their menu are spicy. Becarefull if you are coming alone, don't pick too much menu since the price is quite expensive. They are perfect for sharing.

It was almost 9PM when we visited Mbah Jingkrak. We were advised by our taxi driver to check whether they're running out of stocks or they can still serve us. Us then decided to give a visit, after we had confirmation by phone. Do take note that restaurant closed on 11PM and during busy day, they may running out of... More
