Description: Sala is the first restaurant in Indonesia with a focus on serving mussels in a variety of preparations. Mandira Isman’s culinary smarts have brought his own idea behind the menu at Sala. Moreover, our menu features over 50 dishes as well as specials—a savoury blend of fresh ingredients, and of course, special mussels that pay homage to Belgian cuisine. Our mussels are sourced from the local fishermen in the finest mussel farms of Ambon. This mussels experience is complemented by a wide selection of beer and wine. The 65-seat intimate restaurant is situated in a narrow building space that calls to mind the atmosphere of a New York cafe of the 1970s. The decor is unique, featuring a classic chandelier, hardwood floors, wall-to-wall large rustic mirrors, alongside banquette-style seating on every floor. Two of the most novel aspects of the restaurant is a pretend outdoor garden covered in lush and a basement bar with comfy sofas as well as a state of the art Italian sound system playing Sala’s eclectic music to put you at ease.Simply put, we have something to say.

I came here twice, and hardly want to go back again. The place actually very nice, small but beautiful with details and decorations. But the service for me is too slow, I ordered food and it took more than 20 minutes to be served. The food was good but I hope they can improve more on their service.

Four of us came for drinks and dinner. Decor was great. Food was average, with a rat crawling on the top beam........I definitely will not come back to a place that charges top price but provide such average facility.

They have done a good job with the interior of this restaurants with the small amount of space available and the atmosphere was lovely with nice music and good lighting. However, the prices for the food in there can't be justified. My husband ordered the ribeye steak at 285,000 rp, which came unaccompanied so had to order vegetables and potatoes... More

I went there once a few weeks ago for a short meal, liked it thought it had a great potential and wanted to go back for a full one (meal) This time to my disappointment it was very average and a bit of a let down for the price paid... - good wine list ... "on paper" only because 90%... More

I went there to have a birthday dinner with my fiance. I read the reviews in tripadvisor, and decided to celebrate my birthday in this restaurant. The first impression to the place is amazing. I'm immediately fell in love with this place. A small but lovely and cozy set up makes this place a hidden gem in Jakarta. We had... More

Sala Kitchen came to my list as my friend and I were planning to have brunch in Kemang area. We were told the direction and we almost missed this place as it is tucked away in a line of shops and restaurants. We booked table in the basement as it is the only place my friends can smoke. To my... More

.Went there for dinner, entree and mains were superb. In an area with a very high concentration of restaurants, this place stands out. Great fresh quality ingredients, excellent presentation, nice ambience. The only downside, is it is not as busy as it should be, which is a shame as it really is very good

We went there for a family weekend brunch and it was superb! But, as with all the other times I've been there, it was pretty much empty. I don't understand how Koi's current mediocre fare gets the type of patronage it gets for brunch and this place hardly gets anyone for fantastic food at comparable prices. I had the best... More

I've eaten many times in Sala in Kemang so I'm starting to know it quite well and I have always enjoyed it for several clear reasons: 1.Great quality food with a lot of diversity. The mussels are amazing and so are the fries, the pizzas who are light and healthy (the bresaola and figs one is heaven), the meat, fish... More

The service is great and the hosts are friendly. Albeit modest in portion, the meals are superb and never cease to amaze me. The menu offers a wide variety of cuisine, ranging from European, Asian to Middle-Eastern. For Jakarta standard, it may not offer the cheapest menu on the table, but it definitely provides the best value for money. The... More
