My Indonesian wife had always dreamt of coming here, reasoning that if Thatcher,Merkel and Clinton etc ate there(as they are said to have) and as it is super expensive by local standards it must be something else.So I booked it for her birthday dinner, against my better instincts.Trust in those instincts was fortified when I saw a large coach in the car... I wanted to try Indonesian fine dining so my friends brought me to this restaurant. Ambience was lovely as we had a table in the enclave next to the garden and it was air conditioned. Food was nice but a little pricey. They used fine fine crockery but the service for a fine dining restaurant was lacking.

I've recommended this restaurant today to a friend based on my experience perhaps 10 years ago, and I've read the mixed reviews from my follow tripadvisors. In addition to what they wrote, I have my own and different story to tell. You may all find this funny the way it started, but it turned out to be one of the... More

Decided to take my parents for lunch in Oasis after we went antique-ing in nearby Jalan Surabaya, which although unplanned, was quite the theme of the day as you get the same nostalgic kinda atmosphere once you walked into the restaurant. They even sell some Indonesian antiques in the foyer. The restaurant used to be a Dutch Mansion which dated... More

Went here albeit on on a Sunday for a business dinner with overseas guests. They were suitably impressed with the decor and the ambience even though we were the only diners that night..........usually a sign to turn tail and run. Wish we had. As an experience for our guests we somewhat predictably had ordered ahead asking for the 'rijstaffel experience' which... More

My girlfriend and I came here to find something about Indonesia upon a local friend's recommendation. The restaurant served indonesian, asian & western food. I really enjoyed the food there with my girlfriend. We were not disappointed, tradition everywhere, from the waitress to the decoration. We were happy so much. I really liked the food there, it was so delicious... More

Very entertaining set up: food parade, music and mariachi style serenade at your table. The food is good, most people choose a set menu (not sure if you can do otherwise. Great to entertain visitors, not for every weekend though as it could get too tiring...

A dinner in this restaurant is suggested if you stay in Jakarta. Atmosphere is very colonial, personnel is very professional and in the entrance you can see picture of VIP stayed here. A must is the Rijsttafel (meaning something as rice on the table) where you have 12 waitress serving you in a row and wishing you a good dinner... More

Our tour operator had organised a lunch at Oasis, with the plan being that we were be able to have something of a tasting of a number of Indonesian dishes. On the plus side, Oasis is set in a lovely old Dutch built building and the interior is classic colonial. The staff were very efficient and friendly. All was going... More
