Worth a visit

Cafe Batavia kept its colonial look and it feels like being thrown back in time. The food is great but the prices are on european standard, considering being in Indonesia. Nevertheless, the whole location is extremely special and unique, compared to other places in Jakarta and the service was... read more

On the North side of Jakarta lays the old town of Kota....a bit more better to get to these days with the new bus terminal in place. On arrival the colonial style precense of the building is evident and the good feel of entering the building is somewhat pleasing. The non smoking area is on the upstair first floor and... More

Very nice bar located in the old Batavia. The venue is beautiful and well designed. As soon as you enter in this old colonial building you will feel to jump in the past at the time of the dutch colonization. The forniture, the design and the live band create a magic atmosphere which you will not easily forget!

A very nice pleace. Decorated beautifull. It's like getting back in the old kolonial days. We only had a drink there, a bit pricy but worth it.

The most famous restaurant in "Kota Tua". Situated in the heart of Jakarta old town, this historical restaurant is a must visit. This two-stories resto is facing the Fatahillah museum and a very romantic place if you plan on bringing your partner for dinner. The decoration is typical high class colonial style, the food ranges from western to asian specialties.... More

This was our second visit to Cafe Batavia and GUESS what?!?!? We were truly disappointed AGAIN!!! This time we came for lunch, it was pretty crowded now. First seeing the crowd, we were so excited, we thought the standard might have improved! but NO!!!! Again, the service was poor, waitresses were slow! They were not very attentive to their customers.... More

An iced coffee cost 55,000 (¬+ 20% taxes) but was a welcome respite from the chaotic main Kota square. Worth seeing but expensive. Live jazz music was good!

This place transports you back to the old colonial times. The Indonesian food we had was really tasty and the staff very professional. Very nice place to go if you are in the center of Jakarta.

The look from outside is different from inside cafe. I think this cafe offer nice vintage ambiance rather than the food. The food is not recommended in terms of price and taste. The cafe is located near historical places of dutch collonialism in Indonesia.
