Overpriced

Nice building with a nice atmosphere but it is ridiculously over priced. Probably one of the most expensive places I visited to eat or drink. If you want an overpriced drink there are much nicer places to get it! The atmosphere of that area is all focused on fatahillah square, so if you're there... read more

The price of foods is to pricey compare to other resto in this area. But it had a good ambience inside for its interior and a good view if you can get a table on second floor at the large window. There is also a live music on first floor but to bad it is a smooking area.

This place is awesome, fantastic old historical building with amazing colonial decor inside. Great a table right at the front on 2nd floor and watch all the people roaming around Batavia Square. I just went in for lunch, had a burger and a beer. Reasonable priced. Huge menu with so much local food and western food available.

The 200 year old Café Batavia has a wonderful location on the ever-entertaining Fatahillah Square and is worth a visit for its colonial décor and echoes of the past. The smoky ground floor bar with its live music will suit some and the smoke free upper floor restaurant overlooking the Square will please others. There is a good selection of... More

I love this place, the atmosphere feels like colonial. The price is little bit expensive based on location.

I still like to go there after so many years. The atmosphere (and temperature!) are great after some Fatahilla strolling around. Avoid the food, just have a drink. Not cheap though! Nice thirties jazz music while you ralax. Although the last time I visited, they started to play top 40 music. Hopefully that was a one time occurence! Don't forget... More

My boyfriend and I loved this place! The atmosphere and scenery is absolutely great. It brings you back to the fifties. The menu is extensive, the food is great, staff is friendly. After having lunch here, we came back in the evening for a drink. They had live music in the bar downstairs and they also offer a great cocktail... More

Cafe Batavia is great for taking photographs, having a coffee and imagining oneself swanning around in the Dutch colonial era, listening to the music and enjoying the photographs. The food is very poor, not worth the money. Faded, nostalgic and big on atmosphere

A little oasis in the old part of Jakarta. Good food and a great part of the history of early Djakarata. Sadly though little has been invested in this area and the most of its galleries, museums and shops are well below tourist standard,
