A taste of the past. Step back into history with a beer in the Churchill Bar or a meal in this wonderful atmospheric colonial gem and feel proud to be European. A haven of tranquillity an refinement in the congested and ugly slum city of Jakarta.

It was a vintage restaurant. Food not so expensive but not good at all. With mosquitoes everywhere. Most of the money we spent went to the decoration but not the food.

This is an authentic building from Old Batavia era - which now called Jakarta. Experience the nice classic old Batavia ambiance . The food is good but not extra ordinary outstanding. I recommend you go for dinner in the 2nd floor. it's more classy than the 1st Floor.

this place is a Jakarta city tradition having been there for years. The resturant is in Kota( the downtown part of the city) at Merdeka Square not to far away from the Art Deco Train terminal. If you go to the resturant on the weekends, the square fills up with young people hanging out with their friends on their motorbikes... More

I have been in this place twice. The atmosphere is very good, but the price is overrated. The best beverage I like is the orange juice. They serve many local food, but none twinkle my tounge. Nice toilet as well.. Good for a short break to explore Old City of Jakarta

After a 5 week Indonesia trip we arrived in Jakarta before flying home. We decided to visit the old-Batavia and went to Cafe Batavia. It has a genuine feeling of the Dutch colony times with a nice old decor. However, this is the most expensive bar we've experienced in our 5 week trip. 45.000 for a coke excluding 25% tax... More

This place is located in the old "Dutch" administration area of Jakarta, when it was called Batavia. Food is great, price is affordable, local market is fascinating, they behave a brilliant "ristaffel" multi course Indonesian food fro groups. Not many places in the world like this.

The restaurant is in a historic part of Jakarta. It's good to walk around the area around the restaurant first and soak in the culture. There are also museums nearby. After you enjoy the walk, it is great to cap your day with a meal in Cafe Batavia. They serve traditional Indonesian dishes which make it great for tourists and... More

This is an interesting café / bar in an older part of town. Food was excellent. Service was good. Prices were reasonable. I always stop in when I am in Jakarta.

Was there at about 11am for a coffee. The place was quiet, charming and comfortable for a pause. Prices are expensive for Indonesia. Expect to pay 30,000-50,000 for a coke, soda, fruit juice....But it is worth it. Ground floor is a little dark, with nice tables, chairs and sofas. The decor is stylish, with many photos. First floor is bright... More
