40's themed cafe, in Batavia square

Nice old building with reasonably good food and drink, but a great interior. Good service; albeit there were not that many customers present when I visited

One of my favorites in Jakarta and a haven of tranquility amongst bustling Fatahillah Square. Both the cafe and the square are worth a visit but the cafe is my favourite with all the artwork and its beautiful interior. Sit upstairs for non-smoking and square views, downstairs is smoking and often has a live band.

My friends and I went to Cafe Batavia after hearing a lot of good things about it. Location-wise, its easy to get to, nearby the Jakarta Kota train station. the restaurant is pretty nice, with excellent service. Food is pretty pricey though, a meal with a drink there will cost you cheapest Rp. 120,000. Also, pork is served so Muslims... More

I hesitant at first. I thought it would be only "atmosphere" but I was wrong. The food is pricey for Indonesian but taste good. I did not expect to get such taste. Even the "sambal" is spicy, like it should be. I'd deffo will come back for more.

Cafe Batavia has a name. Very slow service. It is Chinese new year and you would expect good service. I come here once a year but it stays the same and no improvements. I dont know how the restaurant is upstairs. Im talking about the cafe downstairs.

Visited Cafe Batavia for lunch with a friend. Ordered a lamb and chicken Satay with rice. Was absolutely divine. For dessert I had the "Surabi Kuah Bandung" (traditional Indonesian pancake) which wasn't really to my taste. There was a live band performing which was lovely. Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good service. Great place!

Calling for all photographers, never go to Kota Tua without stopping by in this Cafe. Get the best spot for Kota Tua photoshoot near the window cafe shop in level 2.

Heard it was good from good friend of mine. Not dissapointed. Great location in Kota Tua and great view of the square. Nasi Campur was great though a bit pricey (it's an exclusive restaurant so what do you expect?) . Had a cup of Chivet Coffee and it's not cheap. No harm for first timer and regular coffe drinker like... More

Cafe Batavia is a respite from the busy streets and crazy atmosphere of Jakarta. An historic restaurant in Dutch Colonial style, you'll find something for everyone on the menu. The building itself is gorgeous - you can imagine the Hollywood elite, whose photos adorn the walls, dressed in evening gowns and lounging over cigarettes and cocktails in the bar. Or... More
