The idea to establish Loewy was a spontaneous one: that there is a need in Jakarta for a casual bistro – an everyday place with an interesting but accessible menu, a well-designed but informal décor, and adding to the mix: a buzzing, energetic bar serving the best, stiffest drinks in town. The inspiration came from traditional Parisian bistros by way of New York City. The style of the interior is retro/classic with a modern interpretation. The original Thonet chairs, the leather banquet seats, the subway beveled tiles, the tin and copper ceiling panels, the white brick walls; evoking this “Paris bistro meets New York loft in the 1940’s feel. It is then combined with a modern layout and concept, creating an overall ambience that is uncluttered, clean, understated, and timeless.

Friendly place

Nice patio where to stay during the warm night. Easy and friendly people local and foreign. Estensive menu; food is served as should be and the service is keeping attention. But the worm atmosphere is the best part of this place.

The atmosphere was goos for family gathering or business meeting. At Sunday it was fully booked. Nice foods. But standard taste. But the pomme frites (french fries) was quite different than the others'. The best french fries I think in town.

We went with some friends to have dinner. Nice decoration, western style menu, loud music, more in club scene and not very helpful service in the restaurant, totally opposed to the bar where service is really helpful and kind. Food was ok but I think the quality of cooking can be improved for the prices they charge, I would not... More

There seems to be some confusion about this place. I spent more time in here than in my apartment so I think I am qualified to comment. What it isn't: - this is not a top notch restaurant. The food is ok but not outstanding. Many people compain about the food and I am not arguing the point. - this... More

Came hear for Easter Lunch. Jovial atmosphere and many happy people. That included my lunch partner and me right up until the main came. After scrumptious escargot, my sea bass was overcooked and undersized, and did not have the characteristic taste or firmness of sea bass. My partner's organic chicken was dry and could not be tamed with a knife.... More

This place is multitasking. Great bartenders, super friendly even remember your name days later. They also are good craftsmen. The food is great. Diverse menu. Service micro, helpful. Just not always perfect Agree with all the posts about no boss in sight. No manager, it just seems like the whole place runs like a High School team running a bit... More

I had a steak which was cooked perfectly and served hot. Meals were regulated ie I was asked if I wanted my starter and main together or seperate.... More

I've been there by myself so it was not hard to find a table but it's good to make a reservation as the place is packed! Great option for a happy hour as you have nice food & drinks.
