Sitting quietly in bali ..savouring the spices of bali

Three ate last night one had lobster bisque and we waited for main as we know the sizes of the servings..large ..! Then all three took the special of the day "baby gluing" roast suckling pig and trimmings and it was a Balinese specialty feast indeed. Slightly spicing but not unbeatable. While you... read more

Every time we go to Bali, Poppies is a must. This visit left me underwhelmed. The general consensus (there were 11 of us, who have all dined here before) was that the food and service was far below its usual standard. The staff seemed flat and certainly did not want to engage with us. Food was just OK, with the... More

It’s particularly painful to us when our loyal repeater guests are disappointed with our product. We go into soul-searching mode. In the absence of specific comments about specific dishes, we are frustrated not to be able to know what to address. We are especially sorry that the staff disappointed you, as this is almost as important as the food quality.... More

my family visit this place pretty often. The food is quite nice and decently priced. Unfortunately the service was a little slow.

We do apologise for the slow service. We have been very very busy lately, and this has affected our service standards. Rest assured we are doing our best to keep the standards high. More

I first remember going to Poppies when I was about 5 years old. I remember having a banana lassi and thinking it was the greatest invention every. I have been back many times over my life, most recently with my own kids (5&2) and they both had a banana lassi and loved every last drop. The food here is amazing... More

We visit this beautiful resteraunt every year. The grounds are stunning with greenery and water features. Very calming. The staff are very attentive. This is an oasis of calm in busy Poppies Lane. Great for special occasions, groups or just looking for something for couples. Only drawback was a diner wearing his Bintang t singlet, should be a dress code... More

Excellent food and service. My partner had ribs that were falling off the bone and I had a lamb curry that was extremely tender and had a great flavour. Heaps of variety for everyone.

Poppies is an oasis in the middle of Kuta, with a beautiful, enclosed restaurant with plenty of greenery which makes for a relaxing dining experience. The staff are friendly and the food is very good. Their Pina Colada is certainly worth trying, as it’s made from a hand carved coconut – but it does take some time to prepare.
