Rustic Tibetan restaurant

A restaurant which appears to have been serving travelers for decades. Had the wraps which were pretty good as were the sweat tea. The old editions of China lonely planet on the bookshelf were amusing to read.

This little place was recommended to me by my guide. Service was prompt and friendly (neither of which are a given in Lhasa) and the food was tasty. Try the pancakes (a house specialty) or the momos... As we left, a group of monks came and sat down for dinner - and I can't imagine a better recommendation than that!... More

A good choice of Tibetan dishes - very authentic. Basic kitchen and toilet facilities mean it's best to be acclimatised first

Tashi one is located in the center of Lhasa, near by the Jokhang Temple. The owner of Tashi one was an old Tibetan lady who speak exellent English, and well known among tourists in 1990s. Many of the tourists came to Tashi one in 1990s and Tashi one was one of the most popular restaurants among tourists in that time,... More

Not only is Tashi 1 very central on the Beijing Road but it is good value and the food reasonable. The service is quick, fluent English is spoken and the ambience in the small dining room is good. it is perhaps better for a light lunch rather than a longer evening dinner.

Our guide showed us this restaurant for lunch one day and from the outside we weren't so sure. The rest of the group went elsewhere but two of us ate at Tashi. We're so glad we did! The staff are friendly and service is very good. We had fried rice and veg Momo for lunch and it was delicious. The... More

We ate here several times during our week in Lhasa, trying breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a gorgeous little cozy dining room, the service is friendly, and the food is wonderful. The fried apple momo's are to die for.
