I recently had lunch in this peaceful courtyard restaurant. It was one of the nicest experiences in crazy Lhasa! We had simple noodles and rice and it was delicious. We did not stay at the hotel, but I took the opportunity to look around the grounds. It is beautifully maintained and very nice. If I returned to Lhasa I would... More

This restaurant is located back inside the Kyichu hotel in Lhasa, with little garden and comfortable chairs, food is good and clean, there is also some fairly good coffee and soft drinks. If you are not in hurry then it is a good place to hang around and relax. Located in the old town and easily walk to there from... More

My friends and I recently had dinner at the Kyichu Hotel, where we were staying for 4 nights. The restaurant is located in the courtyard of the hotel and is quite beautifully decorated. The restaurant staff spoke English well and they had a nice menu offering Indian/Nepali, Tibetan, Chinese and Western dishes. The dishes were slightly more money than elsewhere... More

I originally posted this review under the Kyichu Hotel -- I did not see that the restaurant had a separate listing. All apologies for double-dipping: This little courtyard restaurant was quite charming, and surprisingly quiet after the crowded, busy street outside (the hotel is located in a prime location, not far from Barkhor Street and Jokhang Temple). It took a... More

Restaurant looking towards a nice inner garden (lunch in the garden). Especially recommandable are the Yak steak and Yak burger: much more tender meat then beef.

Kyichu is located in the hotel of the same name and from the entry and hall leading back to the garden, we had hopes. But the food didn't live up to the good reviews and we thought it was just OK. Mostly we tried Indian as most Lhasa restaurants have Tiebtan, Western & Indian, but we did better in all... More

As in most Tibetant restauranst, try to have Yak meat soups or stew. Very good and tasty. The menu is not vast or easy to interpret so try to look at what other people eat and ask for what appeals to you. Good place.
