Tried the summit cafe after all the positive reviews on tripadvisor. Coffee and cake are good and it is a nice place to relax. Like a Starbucks in the middle of Lhasa. However the coffee and cake is really expensive in comparison to other local places and for us not worth the money. We would prefer a local teahouse.

If you are missing Starbucks or just a semblance of something Western this café is for you whether it's for the coffee or tea or New York Cheesecake or muffins or more likely to use the clean western toilets! great artwork on display on the walls too!

We enjoyed our cuppa at the summit cafe, nice quality coffee, familiar atmosphere of a cafe back home. Unfortunately at the moment the view at the back is on a huge pile of rubble but that didn't spoilt our break.

The service was very friendly and the drinks were good but with food like what we had I don't know how it's so highly rated. Dry carrot cake, yak chow mien with spaghetti sauce & little meat, and a yak sandwich on a hot dog bun left much to be desired.

Called in here for a drink and to make he of the decent facilities. More expensive than other places but worth it for some home comforts. Drinks were decent, carrot cake was tasty but a bit dry. Toilets great.

The Summit Cafe was wonderful. We were able to order from the menu without qualms about what we were likely to be served. The coffee was fantastic after a trip during which I felt coffee deprived! The prices were very reasonable and the staff were very friendly and eager to serve. What more could you want!

You won't beat this for coffee in Lhasa. The tomato bisque is surprisingly amazing. It's very much a nice Western style cafe. Wifi works. The only downside is it's expensive for Tibet, but you get what you pay for.
