Vege momos and masala tea

Reasonable prices, easy to find, liked the food. My travel agency guide recommended this restaurant, the New Mandala, and the Snowland Restaurant, and I tried them all out. I ate here three times, and rate it above Snowland. Favourite dish was the vege momos. The staff recommended a split... read more

Although this place was very crowded, we did not have a good experience here. The service was very poor (not friendly, not responsive to any requests and questions). It was also not very clean (they did not bother to wipe down the table and placemats in between customers and in general the restaurant was dirty). The food was not good.... More

Went there for lunch our 1st day. Spent almost a week before figuring out that finding a place w/ comparable Indo-Nepali food in town was an exercize in utter futility. Possibly the best Indian-style food I've ever had. Located in an unprepossessing location, w/ somewhat lacadaisical service, this is the best meal we enjoyed in the Jokangh-Barkhor area. PS. Lhasa... Ate here a couple times, once as part of a group and the other by ourselves. Great variety of dishes and all the food was well cooked. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and obliging. Nice location with a nice view. Beers and other drinks were always cold which was much appreciated.

Nice location near the Jokhang temple. Overall the food was good with a nice mix of Tibetan as well as Indian offerings. The barbecued yak as well as the nan and curries were quite good. There is enough English spoken to make it realtively easy to order. This was the perfect stop for lunch on the way to the temple.

This is our first stop in Lhasa after arriving from Chengdu. I remember the bad altitude sickness, but still having pretty good appetite for their food. Although I wish I had been able to enjoy it more. My friends in our group who didn't get sick raved about this restaurant's cooking. If you're up for some tasty authentic Tibetan dishes,... More

Ate here one night and New Mandala the next. I liked this much more than my experience at New Mandala. I had Chicken Tandoori with Naan. The chicken tandoori was quite spicy in all senses of the word. My companion had chinese noodles and Chicken momo, which were quite good. Good views of the Jokhar.
