Good Food, Good Value

Ate here a couple times, once as part of a group and the other by ourselves. Great variety of dishes and all the food was well cooked. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and obliging. Nice location with a nice view. Beers and other drinks were... read more

Nice location near the Jokhang temple. Overall the food was good with a nice mix of Tibetan as well as Indian offerings. The barbecued yak as well as the nan and curries were quite good. There is enough English spoken to make it realtively easy to order. This was the perfect stop for lunch on the way to the temple.

This is our first stop in Lhasa after arriving from Chengdu. I remember the bad altitude sickness, but still having pretty good appetite for their food. Although I wish I had been able to enjoy it more. My friends in our group who didn't get sick raved about this restaurant's cooking. If you're up for some tasty authentic Tibetan dishes,... More

Ate here one night and New Mandala the next. I liked this much more than my experience at New Mandala. I had Chicken Tandoori with Naan. The chicken tandoori was quite spicy in all senses of the word. My companion had chinese noodles and Chicken momo, which were quite good. Good views of the Jokhar.

Our guide assisted us tremendously in discerning our tastes and helping us order. The food was good. The service was good. No complaints on our first foray into Tibetan cuisine.

The food is made fresh in a families' kitchen while you sit in their dining room or living room!! I recommend the noodle soup...went back for it twice! Friendly atmosphere, free wi-fi and authentic Tibetan food and drinks

Beyond the noodle stalls, Lhasa has a lot of standard Tibetan/Nepali restaurants offering very similar menus. The Lhasa Kitchen seemed to shine above the average with delicious thali,s and curry dishes, with fresh naan, yoghurt and delicious dhal. Friendly staff, good value and right on Johkang Square, had us coming back for more.

Traveled with large group from U.S.A. Our local tour guide stop us off here to have lunch before heading out to temple. Our group had omnivores and vegans within the group. They had separated our tables for us meat eaters so as not have cross contamination of food. They had brought several dishes out for us. I would say the... More
