Great food from a great host

We went to The Stoep on a rainy Sunday evening, we arrived late but were still welcomed and received warmly by the owners. The menu was elaborate with interesting choices from different cuisines. We ordered the home-made boerewors and the king prawns with three side dishes and everything was... read more

Worst food I ever had in 11 years Hong Kong! Ambience not very clean and not even a view to the beach. Even a bad smell of the little dirty river crossing the restaurant. I was ashamed to be there with my sister coming to visit us. Sorry - but we won't be back in this restaurant never ever.

Get sick to my stomach each time I eat there. Not even worth sitting there for a drink now that it's no longer on the beach. Rather have a drink at The Beach House, and get a feed at The Gallery in Tong Fuk where the food is far better than anything in Cheung Sha.

Agree with other reviews, excellent cuisine, not on the beaten track and grand old lady, Ms Mei makes you feel at home! Take bus 11 from Tung Chung

The restaurant The Stoep is located in an ideal location very close to the beach, the area is called Lower Cheung Sha Village on Lantau Island, you can reach it very easy by bus or by taxi. We were eating there several times and were impressed every time. The owner Dolla from Namibia understands perfectly serving the cuisine of South... More

We found The Stoep by accident although I had been told about it by someone in the UK who had lived on Lantau for many years. We had an absolutely delicious lunch -- the best steak ever and Dolla was a charming hostess. It was the last day of our holiday and it rounded it off perfectly.

Homemade Borrie and Mulva pudding with ice-cream. Need I say more? Genuine hospitality Dolla, thank you for going the extra mile for us. We will come again.

Although a little set back from the beach, the stooep still has a great view and better opening times than any of the other places. Dolla the owner is always lovely. The authentic food is great - my husband could eat Bobotie (a curried beef dish) for breakfast lunch and dinner! Doll's breakfast offering is simple and great - fry... More

On Saturday, 5th September, I hosted a work function for around 40 people at The Stoep. The weather was perfect and everyone had a fantastic time. Comments on how delicious the food was were passed around on a regular basis as well as how organised and efficient the staff were. Dolla truly did make this function so incredibly easy to... More

Nice spot, very friendly staff. Nice menu with decent choice and price ok. No kids menu or kids portions though, considering this is a family place. Wine menu limited but enough to choose from. Ordered a steak, was pretty tough and average, owner or Manager handled and recovered it very well, very empathetic. There is some new competition in the... More
