Good, but not a place we'd run back to...

We went here as a fallback after a failed dim sum run (missed the last order of the night...). The good news is, it's pretty easy to walk in here during the week, but after we sat down we almost aborted after seeing the menu prices (you'd think it was a two or three star). But we stuck it out,... read more

The set menu is great value, fantastic food. Yummy bread and cheese balls. The tenderloin was superb. Waiters were friendly and took time to check everything was good. Nice atmosphere, nice and bright.

Well-deserved one Michelin star . Everything we got was great. Presentation was probably the most creative I've ever seen. The service was attentive and kind, not snobby as you often meet in fancy restaurants. Got three first small courses on the house and a desert. The restaurant is not cheap cost us 360USD$ for two but was money well spent.... More

My wife and i booked a late seating new years eve dinner for 2015 at the Mandarin Oriental. It was really a 5 star experience with lots of attention and care given by the staff throughout our dinner. I had a dish that had black truffles shaved at table side. The truffle presentation was superb of a truffle the size... More

A return to the usual high stands at the Grill. A fantastic lunch (seasonal pheasant - we all opted for the same to avoid food envy!). Good wine and terrific service with a great table by the window overlooking Statue Square. Bravo!

I had an excellent meal at the Mandarin Grill during a stay in Hong Kong in November 2014. I went for the Bacon and Eggs, Calotte of beef and a raspberry soufflé washed down by a glass of Bordeaux and a 50 year old port. Everything was excellent in my view. The bacon and eggs was succulent pork belly and... More

First night in Hong Kong after flying from London, and we thought we would start with something more classic/simple. Oh wow, were we surprised. Food, extra's, wine list and service was outstanding, as was the room and setting. Highlights were the "Meat fruit" and Beef main course. Would def come again, and definitely of Michelin standard food.

This hotel chain is probably the most globally minded of all. Such a great escape from the tourist rush and always the best service.

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
