Description: Overseen by Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong's Executive Chef Uwe Opocensky...
Overseen by Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong's Executive Chef Uwe Opocensky, the Mandarin Grill + Bar is proud to have retained its Michelin star for the sixth year running. Using the finest organic ingredients and seasonally inspired produce, we offer an exciting interpretation of grill classics with a dash of progressive gastronomy. Overlooking Statue Square and Chater Garden, decor is wonderfully vibrant with a moulded scallop-inspired ceiling, Gerard D'A Henderson paintings and a central banquette upon which a selection of stunning white lily floral arrangements are displayed.

An old world classical ambience with a new world, completely mad and pure genius chef combined with top-shelf service and a most excellent wine list equates to exceptional in our books…no other than the Mandarin Grill! Chef Uwe just keeps on rolling out amazing aromas, textures, creativity and tastes that boggle the mind. We have been visiting since he arrived... More

I lived since 3 years in Hong Kong and always wanted to try the Mandarin grill. Finally I went and I was not disappointed at all. Absolutely 5 star service with an amazing tasty menu. It started of with 4 amuse bouche all with a different presentation like a piece of art, green pea tartlets, little beef jerky (for me... More

Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here. Highest level cuisine: imaginative, delicious, fresh, meticulous, beautiful. The wait staff was spot on each step. Attentive, but never intrusive. This is the perfect combination to host an impressive dinner whether for pleasure or business. It is difficult to score a restaurant experience as perfect, but this is probably it.

This is worth one visit - it's sort of old world stuffy Hong Kong. Initially there are lots of staff lurking around your table and a pretty pushy maitr'd. I'm not sure how much you want people to impose on your table. One of my guests wanted something that wasn't on the menu and that created a problem that was... More

We recently spent 6 nights at the Mandarin Oriental and decided to dine at least one time at the Mandarin Grill, given its outstanding status as a world class restaurant. We were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is a relatively small space., with just the right amount of lighting, decor, and space between tables. What sets this establishment above others... More

We went to the Mandarin Grill & Bar on the first night of a week's stay in Hong Kong & enjoyed it so much that we went back again for lunch on the day we were leaving - it was every bit as good second time around. There is plenty of room between the tables, so you don't feel crowded... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
