Great service, great location, great food. This is probably one of the best if not the best fine dining restaurant in Hong Kong. The Japanese beef is to die for, it is so unfortunate that the portion is a bit small. Very impressive execution and a lot of creativity.

We ordered the tasting menu and it was amazing. Every dish is an art - in terms of presentation and taste, and the ambiance in the restaurant was very nice too. It is by far my favorite restaurant in HK. The tasting menu was probably too much, but I would still recommend choosing the tasting menu if it's your first... More

Amber, with its cuisines and service, lives up to my expectation of fine dining. We had the signature dishes for lunch yesterday. The highly-acclaimed reputation is well-earned. The staff were all attentive and courteous. We were impressed by the excellent and impeccable service of King and Holly (both are the names of the staff we remember).

Amber has set a higher benchmark to many restaurants in HK. The taste of the food + the beautiful presentation. The attentive service, the attention to detail, the music and atmosphere makes Amber be as unique and as great as it is. If you are in HK, Amber is a place not to be missed!

I just went to Amber for lunch with my friends on last week. We had a excellent experience! All of the staff were so friendly, polite and professional! We ordered the 4-course signature menu with the wine pairing. No need to write down how delicious of the foods coz all of them was just perfect. If you never been there,... More

I'm admiring talent of Richard Ekkebus. His innovative ideas and attention to the ingredients (superb quality, freshly delivered from all the parts of the world) make Amber's classic French cuisine so special and modern. The restaurant offers the best for a selective taste: fine cuisine, beautiful decorations, terrific service and praiseworthy wine list.

It is certainly one of the top restaurants in the world. The service is at least a notch above most restaurants in Hong Kong. There is a bar at the entrance where one can enjoy an aperitif before the main meal. From there alone you can judge that you can probably order any wine in the world - their wine... More

Booked a table at Amber with sole intention of trying The Degustation Menu. Always wanted to try a journey of food rather than a Tasting Menu, and this 9 course meal did not disappoint. After a thoroughly warm welcome at the restaurant by the staff, was shown to our table. The Sommelier helped with the wine choosing and I have... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
