Food was great with an attentive service. Very pricey though. Will come again for special celebrations.

Amber is located within the Landmark Mandarin Oriental hotel. The entrance is a little cryptic if you are on foot. There is no view but the ambiance is welcoming and decor/presentation of the restaurant is very beautiful. We had the degustation menu. My husband paired the wines. It was expensive but this is to be expected with this level of... More

Kept the French tradition very well but the food is not living up to its name and standards. Food was alright but not amazing. Way over-priced, staff was in a hurry for you to leave after dessert.

Amber is one of our favourite restaurants. Went along for the extremely good wine pairing lunch. The menu has been refreshed for Spring /Summer. Service was excellent. The wines were very good and the food superb. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed the meal and experience.

Six of us for dinner celebrating two birthdays . Amber is one of our top of the line "go to" places in Hong Kong for one of those special occasions during the year . We've never been disappointed with the cuisine which Richard Ekkebus and his team produce and this was a similar experience . Unusually for us we all... More

Decided to take the six course French Gourmet dinner, wow it was fantastic. Yes this is expensive (I didn't go for the wine deal) but I do think on reflection well worth the high cost as the quality of the food was fantastic. It was Asparagus season so the menu had a nice twist on this as well. The service... More

Ordered the 6 course Platinum Menu and it did not disappoint. Each course was beautifully presented and explained by the wait staff. Stand out courses: The green aparagus with caviar on chenin blanc cream anglais is one of the most delightful dishes I have ever tasted. The asparagus was perfectly cooked with a slight crunch from the asparagus and smooth... More

High quality food, high quality service and luxury and modern decor, this is one of our most memorable dining experience. Be prepared to do some damage on your wallet, but really for the experience, you'll not be disappointed.

Ordered the Chinese breakfast. The taste was good but I think it's not authentic enough. They probably arranged the taste for foreigners. So overall not impressive for me.

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
