Anthony Bourdaine got it right!

I was told that Anthony Bourdaine highly rated this noodle restaurant. I gave it a go and I loved the food. The servings are rather small for me, but the dishes we ordered tasted really good.

I never like Hong Kong's noodle, because i always find it to be rubbery. But Mak's noodle changed my perception, the soup was tasty, the dumplings very delicious, and the noodle's texture just tasted awesome. Location were easy to find, just go from the 100 qrc building and you willd find it, the best noodle i've ever tasted in Hong... More

We had the beef brisket noodles and the dumpling noodle soup, both were excellent and delicious. The handmade noodles were fantastic as expected and the broth was surprisingly delicious as well. The atmosphere and service is typical Hong Kong, you either get used to it or hate it. The only thing is that because Anthony Bourdain has raved about it,... More

I ordered the beef noodle. It is really delicious with shrimp dumplings included.. Soup is tasty, beef is tender and noodles are firm. The serving is quite small. Service was fast.

best wonton noodle dish I've had, ever! I actually went to the one in Sheung Wan. The broth is absolutely amazing, the noodles are so fine and perfectly made, and the shrimp wontons are delicious! Between two people, we got one shrimp wonton noodle each, + a side of greens, + a plate of the beef brisket noodles to share... More

We visited the location atop Victoria Peak. As soon as we arrived at the top, a huge downpour ensued, meaning we had to find cover inside. I am glad we found this shop. The noodles and veggies were excellent. The restaurant was crowded, so we shared a table with a family from Shenzen. We could not converse much with them,... More

The wonton noodles are al dente. Nice to chew. Besides, the wonton dumplings consists of super fresh prawn which add points to the wonton noodles. Prawns are big. But take note, the portion of mee is not much, so it takes 2 bowls to satisfy your taste bud. The Chinese kai lan with oyster sauce is nice too.It is not... More

10 years ago I had Mak's noodles In Central. Delicious but expensive and tiny portions. Last week I tried the noodles in a branch at the Peak. Wontons and dumplings were tasty but the soup was tepid n noodles mediocre. Don't bother. The day after I had out of the world noodles in Causeway Bay at a hole in the... More

We ordered the wonton and dumpling noodle soup each, which came in a small bowl (common in HK). Decent flavours, only total of 4-5 dumplings/wontons. If you're hungry, you'd probably need two bowls and/or additional dishes. Service was underwhelming (as expected for a small restaurant) but prices ok. Overall, the place was somewhat overrated.

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
