Iconic and grand...this lobby is reminiscent of the glory days of the Peninsula and makes one feel very special to be there to share the space. The ceilings are especially grand, worth a visit if you are not staying there.

Go for high tea, not breakfast. Its such a wonderful room its worth seeing, but breakfast service for us was hit and miss.

Food and tea was ok. Atmosphere and service ok. Expensive. Had to queue for 40 minutes (got in position at 1.20 p.m. to be seated at 2 p.m.). I hate queuing and it seems to unnecessary - why can't they accept reservations? Compared to, say, The Ritz in London - which was outstanding - it was simply ok.

Still a major item on the list for visitors when they come to see you in Hong Kong Peninsula provides one of the best afternoon teas in the world. I am not sure that many locals come very often and it's always a pleasant trip when you have friends in town to revisit this spot.
