Nothing is more evocative of the olden days of Hong Kong than Afternoon Tea beneath the neo-classical arches of The Peninsula Lobby. Step through the hotel’s main entrance and change gear, as this living example of history takes you back to a more gracious world when there was always time for tea. With The Lobby Strings for musical company, your toughest decision will be when to visit this most elegant rendezvous for a drink or a meal.

The best breakfast in Hong Kong

What a relaxed start of the day in a city that never sleeps. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the service so sweet, Walking in the second day is as if they know you for a long time. Very relaxing area and you'll see the sun rising in the morning.

One of my favourite places for afternoon tea. A piece of advice skip lunch or you will not be able to enjoy it to its full extent.

Although tea was going on when we arrived, we waited and had breakfast in the lobby. Really special.

Have a splurge, give it a shot. It felt great sipping a great glass of Italian wine and having a nice lunch. Just make sure you're seated when they present the bill

Those who love a formal tea service will love Afternoon Tea at The Lobby at the Peninsula. I was told the queue for tea begins at 1:30. I arrived at about 1:33, and there were already ten people ahead of me. I was seated at 1:45, so the wait wasn't bad at all. I was by myself, and the waiter... More

An experience not to be missed! We heard this was the place to go for afternoon tea, so arrived in time to take our place in the very long queue. I have a gluten allergy so off hubby went to make the appropriate enquiries. After about 15 minutes or so he arrived back to say they couldn't accommodate as you... More

On our last day in Hong Kong, we arrived for tea at about 1pm, expecting a line. The musicians were already assembling on the mezzanine, but we were not allowed to get in line until 1:30pm with tea beginning at 2pm. We were seated quickly and ordered the champagne tea. The sandwiches, scones and little pastries were more than sufficient,... More

A friend is a frequent stayer so table was ready and there was no need to wait. The queue was quite bad though and personally I would not have bothered if I had to queue. Anyway tea as nice but nothing extraordinary. Seating is too crowded and the ambience is too noisy. I kept bumping into chairs on way in... More
