Contrasting this to a meal at the Mandarin Grill two nights earlier - I struggle to understand how this offering from Pierre Gagnaire got two Michelin stars because it ticked very few boxes with me and my guests. The menu was overly pretentious, poorly presented and really did not excite the palate. The two French senior waiters were so busy... More

Had a lunch with some girlfriends for a close gathering. The price was reasonable and the wine menu was average. It was a nice atmosphere but the food was just in average. Not very surprised.

I dined at Pierre this lunch time and had the express lunch menu. The menu had a good, varied choice. To start I had the four meats pate which wasn't in my opinion, two michelin star standard. I found that I did not like the crust as it just tasted like limp filo pastry. I had the lamp chop for... More

Had a business dinner here and it was the perfect surroundings for a private conversation while enjoying the spectacular food. First thing you notice is the fantastic view of the bay and the calm and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. We all got a magnificent Caviar dish for starter and a supremely well made steak for main. All was accompanied... More

I had not been at Pierre for a while, and I noticed they had taken the wise decision to separate Ma Bar from the Restaurant, so that the latter is now cozy and quiet. Service attentive, but not invasive. As for the food, the usual great experience. Wine list is focused mainly on French wine (very few Italian in the... More

Wow. Well yes, it was a special occassion. We were fortunate to meet Pierre, who was in Hong Kong for one of his two annual trips. His special celebration dish was of black truffle, in almost every dish. The service was really good, the ambience was lovely and views across hong kong was as always fascinating. In hindsight, we should... More

I love this restaurant, great views, well spaced tables and the most spoiling menu. It is difficult to know what to choose. The service needless to say is immaculate.

A close second to Caprice at The Four Seasons - likewise Michelin-starred, the Mandarin Oriental's signature French restaurant exudes a very sophisticated ambience. The fare is rich and every bite speaks volumes of classic french cuisine at its best. I highly recommend this for dates and special occasions.

Pierre is one of those havens in Central Hong Kong where there is an air of sophistication (i.e. not many rowdy guests) with impeccable service. We were here for a birthday dinner. The food was wonderful - each course came with a well-matched variety of tastes and textures following a seasonal theme. If luxury=choice, then we had a truly luxurious... More

We had Christmas lunch here, and it was by all accounts very special. Service attentive but not hovering (which is just annoying), food was masterful in both flavour and execution, and, because it was daytime, the view was wonderful (we had a harbour-view, window table). Seeing other reviews, I'm hesitant to agree that yes, it was expensive, but I believe... More
