My favorite French restaurant in Hong Kong

This is my far my favorite fine dining restaurant in HK. From food to service is just top-notch. I've been here couple times before and they never disappoint. It is very difficult to find something new to say about this restaurant. The food is great, a pleasure to look at as well as to eat. There is a choice of seating, at the table or at the bar- either type of seating is good but the bar seating doesn't work for a large group as it is difficult... More

Went on my birthday week for lunch, and it was a pleasant surprise to see chef Joël Robuchon there! I had a three course meal from the à la carte menu, langoustine carpaccio for starter, rack of lamb for main and the green apple compote for dessert. Was also offered a complimentary lobster soup dish--everything was just delicious. The staff... More

The dishes served was pure genius of different layers and textures. There was finesse in presenting dishes which were common to us (ie duck confit) and completely re-engineering it into another interpretation. Quite impressive

We were excited to dine here given the positive reviews. However, it was a big let down and service was only soso at best with very average food. Given the extraordinary price tag, it was definitely not worth it. The best dish of the evening was the bread basket! Standards have really gone down. As a fine-dining establishment, the restaurant... More

Yes it's pricey, yes most of the time you seat at the bar. But service and quality of food is just amazing. I don't think you have a better restaurant in Hong Kong. Just enjoy the bread platter and the dishes

My wife & I had the 9 course menu decouverte in Le Jardin part of the restaurant, which offers more spacious, private seating (as opposed to the buzzy interaction with the kitchen offered in the L'Atelier part). The room is charmingly decorated and comfortable - the sort of place where you really settle in for the night. The extensive wine... More

We started with one classic coktail and one original cocktail, both well executed though it took slightly too long to get it prepared. We followed with a Chablis Fevre 2006 which was rich, long an complex. We went for the menu decouverte. The amuse bouche exhibited a beautiful balance of textures and tastes. The starter was made of caviar on... More

If you like any of the other L'Atelier locations then you should feel at home here. Lunch is a great deal.

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
