Gingko House (171-173 Sai Yeung Choi Street North, Prince Edward ) provided organic vegetables and traditional chinese cuisine. It tasted good and the quality of food was high.

Gingko House has a new branch at Jao Tsung-I Academy, 800 Castle Peak Road, Lai Chi Kok. Impressed by their insistence in using organic ingredients. And they hired retired people working there. All staff there are as competitive as young guys and even more polite and gave you more advices! Love their attitude. Also, they keep trying new menu. It... More

The Gingko houses, one serving Chinese cuisine (near Prince Edward MTR station on Kowloon side) and one serving western cuisine (in Lan Kwai Fong area on Hong Kong side), impressed us with their consistently excellent food quality, reasonable prices and efficient and pleasant services. Set up as community economic development/social enterprise ventures that promotes organic farming and employment for retired... More

I was excited to find this little treasure with organic meats, herbal drinks and very pleasant staff. Healthy restaurants are hard to come by in HK and this place offered a Delicious healthy menu, interesting dishes and drinks (beetroot tea was excellent) reasonable prices and wait for it...even great service. To boot, the place is at the end of gough... More

We tried the Chinese New Year Menu after looking for a restaurant nearby. Only 250 HKD per person for a 3 course meal. The tables were nice + candle lit but the place is quite small. The starter was Salad + Prosciutto wrapped scallops. For main I had Pork cheek with baked fish. The pork was 80% bones but the... More

Using one of the engine searches, we keyed in 1) vegetarian and 2) French food, found this restaurant. Good location, as it is still around SoHo area. The restaurant only has eight tables for two, so it can only accommodate 16 guests. Reservation is recommended. Even though it wasn't full when we went there during working days. I like the... More

My HK local friend brought me to this place, and she told me it was a French restaurant and it's a social enterprise that contributes to the elderly. So I was expecting it had a French setting and menu. The menu is definitely more general European rather than specifically French. But not a problem, the food was great. I'm not... More

Let's get one thing straight, there is nothing French about this restaurant. It was opened by some guy with a veggie patch out in the sticks. The last time I sent back my foie gras because of its insipid, hockey puck texture I was offered Dutch herring as an alternative, or a black tomato - that's it, just a tomato,... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighborhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
