To my surprice The Press Room serves excellent french cuisine! Plateau Fruit de Mer, oysters, Homard du Maine or Foie Gras Poêlé are some of the starters to choose from. My Foie Gras was perfectly prepared and accompanied with a glass of sweet Coteaux de Layon. As a maincourse I had perfect crispy Confit de Canard and Magret de Canard... More

Yes, yes! So much choice in Honkers! Good wine and food, maybe slightly pricey for what it is, but enjoyable.

Met up with a group of friends at the rugby 7's weeekend, a good mix of locals & expats. The menu is very good with a fine selection of seafood, steaks, pastas with generous size portions and the drinks list equally impressive. The service was friendly and attentive. It also has a small bar so you can have a drink... More

Walked in for lunch after touring the Western area of Hong Kong. We were seated right away. The atmosphere was lively and there were both locals and tourists, families and young people. We ordered a burger and a salmon burger with fries and beer. The size of the burgers were quite impressive and tasted great. We definitely enjoyed the vibe... More

We met up with an old friend here to have great conversation and good food in its dimly lit dining room. I had the whole sea bass, which was excellent. We also had the cheese course and crème brulee. The cheese course was good. Crème Brulee was a rather large portion, and we were just too full to enjoy it.... More

I'm a sucker for a good french bistro. Not always easy to find in Asia. The Press Room does it. SImple menu. All the classics. I had a top notch lobster bisque followed by a perfectly prepared Dover sole (not easy to find in Asia). Great wines. Good prices. Go and enjoy

Nicely styled place with a decent atmosphere. But- at 240 HKD for Lobster eggs benedict, I would have expected more than 3 pathetically small pieces of lobster (probably no more than 20 grammes' worth of meat) drenched in Hollandaise sauce, which rendered them tasteless- that's not value for money- and they got the order wrong in the first place, and... The food was brilliant perfectly cooked eggs benedict and the wild mushrooms with mine were wonderfully done. The issues were the tap water tasted of chlorine which they attempted to hide with lemon and when you walked in the smell of the seafood being presented was not right. The apple juice came with high recommendations from my friend however my... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighborhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
