Great Pre Movie Meal

I had lunch at Osaka on a recent trip to HK. It was Sunday so it wasn't too crowded. We ate there prior to seeing a movie. There were four of us and we had; Hot Pot, Terryaki, Sushi and one Tempura. There was nothing earth shattering about the food. As always, it was simply good food in all... read more

If you are looking for some fine Japanese food, this is where you want to be. You can go ahead and order whatever you want, and the food will be bought to you in the correct order as per Japanese tradition. Do not miss the Black Seaseme Ice Cream. Once you will have this ice cream , you will be... More

Used to be best at $$$$ but now distance from best at $$ or $$$ (depend on what food you pick) so I am in with a different expectation and am happy. A variety of choices. Try any teppanyaki set or the sashimi combo (they have two try the higher end one). Or just some snacks eg green beam and... More

The staff still understand Japanese and the lunch menu is still like something you will see in a restaurant in Tokyo catering to "salarymen". Personally I didn't find the food particularly unauthentic or substandard and I guess neither did the lunchtime crowd because as usual the place was packed.

The sushi looked as if it had been sitting out for 3days... One piece I actually spat out. Awful! Only go if you hate the person you are with and want them to die.

I have been coming to this Japanese restaurant regularly for over 20 years. The quality has been consistently good. Two years ago the Japanese owner sold this restaurant to a Chinese gentleman. Today it is a typically Chinese style Japanese restaurant patronized by mainland Chinese and locals who read foodie magazines. Raw materials, service, ambience, quality and all have suffered.

Ordered a selection of dishes and they came one at a time which was great as we shared each one but may not be good for every one. Braised duck prawn tempura, pork rice, beef teriyaki, chicken. Draft Sapporo to wash it down. Wild be quite easy to spend a lot and just let the dishes keep coming

Our friend, who lives in Hong Kong, took four of us to this restaurant. He insisted that we eat downstairs, where the chefs cook your meal right in front of you. We found the food delicious, especially the salmon and beef roll. We did not have any sushi. We each got meal "A" which consisted of various courses, such as... More

We were recommended this by the concierge at the Sheraton. The decor is typically basic Japanese pine tables. The food was bland at best. Worst was the tuna sashimi that was still half frozen. Don't bother.
