My husband and I went to this Restaurant for our wedding anniversary. Can't say I have ever been served by wait staff in tuxedos and wearing gloves! The service is amazing. We had the set lunch and ordered the 4 courses thinking the portions would be small. They were not! The food was fantastic. Beautifully presented and yum. Neither of... More

Like The Peninsula, Jimmy's Kitchen, Luk Yu Tea House and a couple of other establishments, Amigo's an institution. I had lunch at Amigo with my parents last year and WHAT stood out the most was the service. The staff to guest ratio must be 1 on 1 or perhaps even less. Immediately upon our arrival, we were escorted to our... More

Had lunch at Amigo. Last time was 1989 dinner. The ambience and staff seem almost totally unchanged. The menu could have been extracted from a high end diner of 40 years ago. Interesting, the age group of diners is diverse. This is not a restaurant for foodies but the food is solid and reminds me of a Hong Kong take... More

Having only started reviewing restaurants since I moved to the UK my numerous visits to Amigo's took place a number of years ago. So it was great to see that it's still thriving as many places I used to frequent are long gone. The food was always good but what I always remember is the service. So many times I... More

My review is not on the quality of the food at Amigo as we never got that far. After arriving for a special occasion we were promptly told upon entry that shorts were not allowed to be worn in the restaurant. Just to confirm my brother was wearing tailored dress shorts, with a shirt and dress shoes. We all have... More

From the name alone, one would not expect such a fine dining experience. It truly belongs to the old school of hospitality where you find white glove service. The wait staff are in coat tails and bow ties, reminiscent of old Europe butlers. The trio of singers with their musical instruments would serenade while you dine in the muted and... More

There is no lack of fine dining in Hong Kong and Amigo has retained its place in the city's culinary scene as offering fine food and attentive service. Our recent lunch experience there corroborated this. We ordered the 4-course set lunch at a very reasonable price (approx. HKD350) that included a glass of red or white wine. The food and... More

Wow! I've been coming here for many years and still haven't been disappointed. It's not cheap, but we are in Hong Kong in an upscale market. I'll be back!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary recently. The service and atmosphere could not be faulted. The food - main courses of beef and sea bass were excellent. Soup (crab meat consommé was so so). Appetiser froie gras was ok. Dessert Napolean cake was disappointing but my partner's soufflé was yummy. Overall, not disappointed.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit skeptical about Amigo, also great customer service is hard to come by in HK so I wasn't going to have my hopes high even for a fine dining restaurant. But I was blown away by the atmosphere of the restaurant, the professionalism and the wine list! The food was delicious... More
