Description: OPENED SINCE 1998 IN HONG KONG AS THE BRAIN-CHILD OF VETERAN RESTAURATEUR...
OPENED SINCE 1998 IN HONG KONG AS THE BRAIN-CHILD OF VETERAN RESTAURATEUR, MR. CARMELO LOPEZ. A NATIVE SPANISH HIMSELF, HE CAME TO ASIA IN THE 70'S BUT WAS STILL NOSTALGICALLY ATTACHED TO THE RICHNESS AND EXQUISITE TASTE OF THE CUISINE OF HIS MOTHERLAND. OLE WAS CREATED FROM THIS CRAVE FOR AUTHENTICITY! JUST EXPERIENCE THE GENUINE TOUCH OF SPAIN THE MOMENT YOU STEP INSIDE THE RESTAURANT: THE LEMON YELLOW PLASTERED WALLS AND GLAZED TERRACOTTA TILES OF THE MEDITERRANEAN, THE LIGHTING FIXTURE AND THE DECORATIVE POTTERIES DIRECTLY FLOWN FROM SPAIN. ALL THESE ELEMENTS COMBINED TO RECREATE A UNIQUE AND COZY ATMOSPHERE THAT GOES HAND IN HAND FOR THE ENJOYMENT ONE OF THE WORLD'S FINEST CUISINES. THE EXTENSIVE VARIETY OF DELICACIES, PERFECT WITH THE SPANISH WINES, SANGRIA OR CHILLED BEERS. LIVE GUITAR MUSIC THROUGHOUT THE EVENING GRACEFULLY EXHILARATES A RELAXING AND ENJOYABLE MOOD.

I had given up hope to find a decent genuine Spanish restaurant in Hong Kong but I was most pleasantly surprised when I tried Ole. The food is authentic Spanish food, exactly as it is in Spain, no twists, no gimmicks and no disastrous attempts to be "creative". Quality ingredients, skillfully cooked and nicely presented together with a lovely athmosphere... More

In an ever changing environment like Hong Kong, this place in the heart of Hong Kong offers a steady and reliable offering for the past 15 years+. That is quite an achievement. You feel the nostalgic taste in the food, and together with decorative elements as well as the live guitar music, it all adds up to the overall pleasant... More

This Spanish restaurant has been around in HK for quite a while, which is a sure sign that it is sufficiently popular to withstand the high rent. I have been to Madrid and Barcelona and my palate tells me their paella is as good as, if not better than whatever I had tasted before in Spain. Of special note, is... More

I returned to Ole after a long time and found the place to be in the same good condition. The manager is still the same for years which is quite rear in Hong Kong. All the tapas we tasted were great - want to point out the Boquerones. The paella is good for 2 people. The only down side were... More

The staff and atmosphere is great, service was as you'd expect and the ambiance from the 2 piece band exceptional... That's where it ended. We were encouraged to have the Paella.. We ordered a chicken and a pork. The chicken smelt like a live wet chicken, it was also not chicken pieces but chunks of chicken attached to the bone.... More

Paella average, drinks very expensive. Entertainment very good. Plenty of better options if on vacation. $400 AUD bill for 4 mains, 3 desserts and sangria.

An unprepossessing entrance leads you into true Mediterranean charm. The look and feel are very Spanish giving a wonderful out of Hong Kong experience. The menu is packed with great food I especially recommend the sea bass and suckling pig, the tapas menu is faultless, portion size perfect. Great wine list as well. the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
