The Verandah is a celebrated restaurant that brings you a faultless combination of heavenly traditional Continental cuisine, blended with innovation, fine wines and discreet, attentive service, in a classic yet relaxing setting in true Peninsula style. The Verandah re-opened following a six-month-long extensive restoration and refurbishment of its interiors and kitchens in August 2009. It maintains the relaxed and spacious atmosphere of the original Repulse Bay Hotel but with a Grand Hall to create a more spacious and welcoming arrival experience and a revitalised interior. A new Grand Staircase provides stylish and convenient passage from the restaurant to the Palm Court and the retail arcade. Regulars can rest assured that The Verandah's celebrated signature dishes — and its traditional English Afternoon Tea and Sunday Brunch — remain on its bill of fare.Opening hours : Wednesday to Saturday, Public Holidays Lunch 12:00 noon to 2:30 pm Afternoon Tea 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm(3:30 pm to 5:30 pm onPublic Holidays) Dinner 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm Sunday Brunch 11:00 am to 2:30 pm Afternoon Tea 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm Dinner 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm Closed every Monday and Tuesday (except Public Holidays).Lunch and Afternoon TeaKindly note that our dress code is Smart Casual. We respectfully request that gentlemen refrain from wearing plastic footwear, beach flip-flops and sandals. Excellent Day with impeccable service

I booked the verandah when my parents in law were visiting Hong Kong. My mother-in-law has a food allergy which I notified the restaurant on reserving a table for the afternoon. They could have been more understanding and accommodating in cooking what she ordered without any dairy products. The... read more

This restaurant is a luxurious restaurant. The atmosphere is very good and the location is excellent with its proximity to the sea. The food is also delicious with a lot of european and western food.

Went here for afternoon tea for my wifes birthday in November. We were part of an organised holiday in Hong Kong, and the itinerary had us going here on another day, but it was changed so we could celebrate the birthday with the afternoon tea, which was a nice touch. The food was very good and presented really nicely, with... More

Came here for dinner on a Wednesday night. Beautiful setting and good menu selections. We ended up with the 4-course set dinner; however, the kitchen was so slow that it took us more than 3 hours to get done on a quiet night. My lobster bisque was not hot; and my lamb chops came out cold and under-cooked. There would... More

This is a place for occasions, for tying the knot and of course to offer an engaging ring. The movie "Love is A Many Spendid Thing" was shot here, and it explains why it worths a visit. The service is impeccable and the food is basic but excellent. Be sure you make early reservation as the tables are always full.... More

The Verandah Restaurant at Repulse Bay is run by Peninsula Hotel, which is famous for its High Tea, among other things. To avoid the crazy long line and a rather hectic surroundings at its parent hotel in Kowloon, this restaurant is a perfect alternative. The restaurant offers serene ambiance in a colonial setting. Many tables are set along a corridor,... More

Read fairly positive reviews for the afternoon tea so booked a table to take my parents. Website says tea starts @ 3:30pm but Reservation was for 4pm. Traffic was light (pretty rare for Hk) so we arrived early around 3:30pm. They were winding down the brunch buffet and didn't seem very busy. They seated us in the library lounge. We... More

Went once to try their brunch and have been quite disappointed. The buffet had a lot of options but the quality of the food offered was very low. Given the price tag, I don't understand how they can do so poorly.

It is a good experience for afternoon tea on Sunday with a view of repulse bay. The food is classic english afternoon tea. The venue is of heritage feel and the english earl gray and green tea matches so well with the tea. The only downside as there are many people so it tends to become very noisy. Of course... More
