The Verandah is a celebrated restaurant that brings you a faultless combination of heavenly traditional Continental cuisine, blended with innovation, fine wines and discreet, attentive service, in a classic yet relaxing setting in true Peninsula style. The Verandah re-opened following a six-month-long extensive restoration and refurbishment of its interiors and kitchens in August 2009. It maintains the relaxed and spacious atmosphere of the original Repulse Bay Hotel but with a Grand Hall to create a more spacious and welcoming arrival experience and a revitalised interior. A new Grand Staircase provides stylish and convenient passage from the restaurant to the Palm Court and the retail arcade. Regulars can rest assured that The Verandah's celebrated signature dishes — and its traditional English Afternoon Tea and Sunday Brunch — remain on its bill of fare.Opening hours : Wednesday to Saturday, Public Holidays Lunch 12:00 noon to 2:30 pm Afternoon Tea 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm(3:30 pm to 5:30 pm onPublic Holidays) Dinner 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm Sunday Brunch 11:00 am to 2:30 pm Afternoon Tea 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm Dinner 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm Closed every Monday and Tuesday (except Public Holidays).Lunch and Afternoon TeaKindly note that our dress code is Smart Casual. We respectfully request that gentlemen refrain from wearing plastic footwear, beach flip-flops and sandals. I rarely write good reviews about dining venues as I am a non-believer in the Gresham's law. But since the establishments I wrote about last year is still in business made me wonder if the world is being kind to the restauranteurs who is truly making good food. I have recently moved back to Hong Kong after spending 20 years... More

This is an institution. Brunch in Hong Kong with unlimited vine! Great! I have returned to this restaurant for its Brunch on many occasions. It does not disappoint. A wonderful selection of food, from all around the world. |The problem is that you eat too much. I even went for the deserts something I rarely do. The place is also... More

We visited the Verandah for Sunday Brunch and it was a fantastic experience. The most amazing views over Repulse Bay and the gorgeous beach below. A wonderful and expansive buffet with delicious treats. The staff were excellent and the building a real colonial throwback. Look forward to visit again

I went to the Verandah with my parents on the day after the Chinese New Year this year (February 2015). It was a relaxing yet elegant experience. Tucked nicely away from the hustles and buzz of urban Hong Kong, the Repulse Bay Hotel (where the Verandah is at) is a historic hotel sitting in front of a quiet stretch of... More

We went to the Verandah for a full lobster lunch and it was a great experience. The lobster bisque was nice and creamy. The lobster salad was great with a mix of mangoes and green. The lobster was perfectly cooked as a main course with a beautiful butter sauce. The dessert was not a lobster but a Grand Marnier souffle.... More

I booked this Afternoon Tea for 6 women for a Friday to celebrate my birthday. The setting, I thought was wonderful. It is Colonial, complete with palms, fans and shutters. I give the atmosphere 10 out of 10 for my event. We started in a sitting area with glasses of champagne and then moved into the Verandah, a light and... More

Unless you have a window table looking towards the sea, it is dowdy 1930's and really not a good experience. The Sunday buffet was definitely sub standard as was the service. I will never return there, leave it to the obviously well oiled ex-pats

I tried really hard to get reservation, they were almost always booked. Finally went for dinner with friends, found the ambience a tad bit sad(if I may say). They had limited tables and on that particular day a table or 2 were empty. It's is extremely formal in setup and service. We were seated in the reading room, apparently used... More
