Tokio Joe’s simple décor and friendly staff provide a relaxed and casual alternative to formal Japanese dining. Interior space is highlighted by wooden paper screens, natural wood and open sushi bar giving an airy feel. The ‘user friendly’ menu features traditional favourites and innovative creations with anemphasis on fresh sushi and sashimi. A must try are Joe’s Soft Shell Crab Rolls and deliciously fresh Spicy Toro Tartar.

Fun Evening With Friends at Tokio Joe

On our first night in Hong Kong on our honeymoon, we joined some college friends, living in HK,at this lively restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong for a fun evening. We had all sorts of well prepared sushi, and we received attentive service throughout the long, and ultimately boisterous evening.

This was a nice Resturant for vegetarians, the staff was good enough to discuss options. I don't remember the dishes, but we had a good dinner. Make sure you reserve a table in advance. And try a sparkling sake !

If you want some excellent, fresh, well prepared sushi in Hong Kong that will not break the bank, you better head to Tokio Joe. It's not cheap by all means but you get very good sushi in return. Beside the ery good fish and seafood sushi, don't miss the kobe beef roll.

Went to Tokio Joes for a weekday lunch. I tried to make a reservation but they were full however they had some seats at the counter. the food was good (not up to the standard in Japan but very few restaurants outside the country are), and was reasonably priced.

Locals had warned me about the scarcity of good sushi at a reasonable price - look no further than Tojio Joe in LKF. I realize that LKF is not synonymous with great food, but hear me out. Try the set lunches, but ensure that you make a reservation. The sushi counter is comfortable, so don't shy away if that is... More

I had dinner there on Thursday, with other 4 people. Welcomed by the manager Mr.Jimmy who sit us in a nice table, and as usual I let C Fu (Chef Wha) take care about the menu.. Once again the quality was surprising and the food incredible... Cfu and his staff delight us with traditional Japanese with a wise balanced contemporary... More

Went with a couple who goes a lot and knew what to order. Some sort of tuna dish on lettuce wrap was amazing. Great desert as well. Not at all cheap but so yummy. We will be back.

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
