Reasonably authentic Swiss food in the heart of Kowloon

As a family with many connections to Switzerland, my son was keen to take us to try the food at La Chesa during a recent visit to Hong Kong. After having two amazing trips to Switzerland, my husband fell in love with the interior of Chesa. It actually feel just like you are in Switzerland. The food and fondue was fantastic (a nice break from days of delicious Dim Sum and noodles). The service was incredable also. It is romantic and a fun experience!

When you first enter the restaurant, you cannot feel that you are in Hong Kong! very cozy atmosphere with great people! The size of restaurant relatively small (need to book in advance). However, the service and food quality is very good! We started with Chesa salad and continued with the cream Barley soup(amazing!) / Motie Motie Fondue / Hamburger Rostie... More

Two days into my four day stay with the Peninsula Hotel, and I must say that my dinner experience with Chesa has been a low point. My main meal for HKD320 was a chewy, fatty beef that seemed extremely overpriced for the quality. I did ask for my horseradish to be left on the side of the dish, which was... More

Went there on Monday night and it was full, the food was tasty, had cold cut and soup for appetiser, must try cheese fondue and the veal. The apple tart is great and the chocolate chalet is so so... A bit noisy next table as big table... Other than that it was ok... Will only try once

OK, the best fondue is still mine, but to be fair, I will say they make excellent fondues. We enjoyed the truffle one (I would have liked to have only that one) and the traditional "half and half". We enjoyed delicious white wine "Chateau D'auvernier" from Switzerland. Would also like to thant Mr.Ken Cheung Ho Kiu who was our waiter.... More

Have been to this restaurant countless times, probably 100 or more. It is very cosy as it is rather small, and one feels one is in a small restaurant in Switzerland (where we have been many times) instead of being inside a restaurant in modern day Hong Kong Peninsula. Service is friendly and efficient, led by Ping, the Manager. We... More

First of all, it is not easy to find... I doubt if anyone could find the restaurant without staffs pointing out. Even the entrance of a restaurant is very small. But once inside, the environment is very nice... warm and decor with dark wood, very Swiss! The staffs are very welcoming and attentive - That is a given, after all... More

We never thought we'd have cheese fondue in Hong Kong, but after a month of travel in Asia, it sounded great and the TA reviews were good, as well as the openrice.com reviews. We had lunch there and did not regret it one bit. Lovely house salad followed by the fondue. Nice wine list. Since we usually like to have... More
