Tried this due to so many positive reviews for dinner. Only locals in the restaurant, so that was a big affirmation for us. Food was good & felt very welcome.

Ser Wong Fun (literally meaning Snake King "Fun") made its name famous with its seasonal (autumn/winter) snake soup and cuisine. Such nutritious delicacies (said to be rich in protein and improve vitality) has lost its popularity in recent years even amongst the locals. During the autumn/winter period as now is, it would be best to have its air-dried lean pork... More

After the good reviews I was hoping that this place would live up to the reputation. To be honest I wasn't impressed. I found the snake dishes to be incredibly expensive, even by UK standards, although if that's what snake meat costs then I can't complain. The dish itself wasn't that complicated or strong flavoured, but it did allow me... More

Went with family who knew exactly what to order - food very reasonably priced and superb - in busy times you may have to wait or share a table so get there early - they don't take bookings. On the advice of my Cantonese sis-in-law we had :- Lemon chicken, egg fried rice, ginger rice, pork and beans, BBQ pork,... More

This is a famous restaurant for snake but we had a lovely goose instead. Goose was excellent, crispy skin and not too much fat. Delicious congee and wonton soup noodles. Did not have a chance to eat clay pot rice but will return next time to try those dishes. Grouchy waiter but excellent food.

Ser Wong Fun lives up to her reputation of serving one of the best, if not the best, snake broth in Hong Kong. The restaurant is filled to the brim with office workers at lunchtime on weekdays. When we revisited the place at mid afternoon on a Saturday, we did not have to wait for a table and there was... More

This restaurant is just off the Mid-Levels Escalator. The popular items the locals order are the claypot rice dishes with the Chinese sausage and snake soup. These dishes were only average in my opinion. Prices are a little expensive in comparison to other restaurants.

I love chinese SOUP ! I need soup to nourish my system. And I found the soup that I love in Ser Wong Fun. They serve a wide range of soup and they are so tasty. You can order other Chinese dishes here but I stop here specially for soup.

It is price average restaurant, and you have a deep variety of good dishes very delicious. Great service. Located near the longest automatic scalier in the world and after dinner you just walk 5 minutes to get into a bar area.

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
