pleasantly surprised

I had a 5 courses dinner and enjoyed it. the Mille Feuille with Maruru tuna sea urchin flavoored with wasabi and Oscietra cavioar was excellent and refreshing. I also liked the slow cooked Maine lobster with carrot, asparagus and brown lobster essence, sauce Vin Jaune. the sauce was light and... read more

Very nice view indeed and good service. However we felt quite robed by the portions of the dishes. The starter but also the main course ( the meat was supposed to be served with a potato gratin, but they came with a portion so small that you can finish it with one spoon) When you see the fare you feel... First visit to this restaurant, but it won't be the last. Stunning views, excellent service and superlative food. We had the set lunch, and brought our own wine. Price looked toppish pre-meal but was actually deemed to be very good value post-meal! Corkage is reasonable, and recommended. The wine list is impressive, but margins are predictably excessive.

This restaurant was chosen for a private function to celebrate a colleague's promotion. Our long table was next to the window with good view of the harbor. Decoration was simple but cozy with high ceiling. The chef was from Petrus Restaurant and the owner Kent always checked out our table to make sure everything was fine. The waiter briefed us... More

Decided to try this place since it's close to my hotel. The window seats were unfortunately all taken up by a private function so i had to settle for a seat inside. They have 4, 5 and 8 course sets and i decided on the slimmer 4. The chef is local and worked in 1 of the shangri la's french... More

Well located in Wanchai, l'Amuse bouche give you a nice view on Hong Kong island, being 22nd floor. Unfortunately, the very good service is not enough to compensate the pricey but worthless main course. Even the cooking of the veal was wrong, requested to be medium but served well done. If you don't count when you eat in a restaurant... More

diligently prepared French food with the occasional hint of fusion, good cheese selection, order the soufflé early in case you are into it, it is delicious; friendly and competent service. Would I return: YES

Today I had lunch at Amuse Bouche, on the 22nd floor of the Hennessey building in Wan Chai. It was recommended by Trip Advisor and did not disappoint. The restaurant has stunning views over the harbour towards Kowloon, and I was seated perfectly to observe everything from large modern vessels to tug boats and junks go by. Service was efficient,... I met the owner, Kent Wong's wife casually at Stanley Market. She told me to check out her husbands restaurant in Wan Chai. She forgot to mention that it is probably the BEST restaurant in Wan Chai. I arrived still in the clothes from my days shopping to be greeted by immaculate, yet such friendly staff with a passion for... More

This amazing restaurant is tucked away in the middle of Wanchai and not that easy to find. But it was worth the trouble, as the ambiance was nice and the food delicious. I had an avocado salad to start, a delicious seafood gratin, a roasted pork loin wrapped in bacon, a piece of beautiful walnut cake and finished the meal... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
