Buzzy atmosphere, delicious food - pricey though

I've eaten here a few times and every time the food is exceptional, every item on the menu I've tried has been good (would be good to have more choice of dessert). A great fun atmosphere, with lots of noise, a live kitchen (try to sit at the bar if there are two of you), and friendly staff. It is... read more

A very short menu albeit delicious Viet food with a slight twist. Good cocktails, tight fit yet high energy .. no reservations so one can hang out on the street with a drink. Hip Hong Kong, all in all, fun!

The place is noisy and warm (in a nice way), people seem to be having a good time but one must admit the food is overpriced for what is, to be precise, large snacks. Also the food is too tasty. I am NOT saying they use MSG but if they don't they use a lot of salt or something else.... More

Dear MIchiu4, Thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t fully enjoy your meal with us. At Chôm Chôm, we serve Hanoi-style street foods that are meant to pair well with beer. This means that our dishes are packed with flavour, and the restaurant itself is meant to be bustling. We can assure you that we use... More

Had to wait wait almost an hour for our table, even though we were told 30 min. Table was extremely small, but we managed... Food was great, staff helpful. Quite pricy though, but thats the case with all

I had a delicious meal with a group of 5, and we all had a great time. Food was wonderful, drinks were great, and the atmosphere was cozy and bustling at the same time. Would definitely recommend!

This place was packed on a Tuesday night - we were lucky to get a table. The food was delicious and the service good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Squishing as many people as possible into a tiny space in true hk style! Good food and good atmosphere it was packed on a Thursday night, quickly served thimbles of beer keeping the conversation flowing while we waited a few minutes for a table. Food was good, I'm no Vietnamese food guru but it was tasty with good choice, some... More

I was taken here by two friends who live in the area, we got a table after 2 minutes. We ordered VFC, squid, bbq ribs, fish and beef and it was all very tasty! Really enjoyed the flavours. The service was fantastic and we were even given complimentary shots after the meal- perhaps because my friend is now a local... More

We went to Chom Chom following recommendation of HK resident after couple unfortunate visits to random restaurants. We met very friendly host at the entrance, although the place is tiny (but very cosy), were offered drinks and received professionally mixed cocktails. Whiskey sour was outstanding. After couple minutes at the bar, we got table for two, ordered food. Cuisine is... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
