While the Mandarin Oriental as a hotel has changed over the years and, in my view, lost a little of its character, I was delighted to find that The Chinnery is unchanged, preserving a special sort of British quality which can seldom be found in Britain itself. If you dont get this level of ambience, service and food at an extravagant restaurant in a 5 star hotel, it would wrong. I have had lunch several times. It is OK. Plain ok. Not outstanding at all buy perfectly in line with what you would expect from a British Indian resto / bar at a nice hotel.

Wonderful curry. Reserve a seat at the bar for best experience. The staff is most accommodating and great attention to detail is paid.

The Chinnery is the haunt you need to go to when you are in the mood of sipping off a glass of Scotch or well aged port over some nuts, under the gaze of dead, white male hung on the walls. This commentator must confess that he is in said mood at least a few times a month. While the... More

I had not been for lunch to the Chinnery for five years Had to get there for 12 noon as there is no booking and I had been forewarned tables were difficult to find As it was I was only able to get four seats by the bar However a long lunch was enjoyed with very good food and excellent... More

Chinnery serves great pub fare. I loved the cottage pie with a side of rich mash potatoes. The food does not disappoint. Ambiance is great upmarket intimate pub feel. However, since you are dining at the Mandarin, expect to get stung. However, its worth it. Beverage prices are, however, expensive. Difficult to get a seat so go early.

I have always been to The Chinnery by myself and sometimes i think i should keep it that way. Can't think of many other places in the world where i enjoy a meal on my own like i do here. I feel very confortable and welcome. The cocktails are done perfectly and all the food i've had was also done... More

Old school British dining in a nice cozy environment. Good food and service. Make sure you make a reservation in advance!

The interior of this place just adds to the amazing service that myself and anyone else that I have known who has eaten here. I can't fault one thing. Keep up the amazing service and I will always return with new faces!

We had lunch at the Chinnery, taking the Star Ferry across from Kowloon to Central. Take the pedestrian walkway to Connaught Road and walk a very short way to Mandarin Oriental (you can see it from the walkway). No reservations at lunch. We arrived at 12:15 pm and got the last table, which was a perfect one, tucked in a... More
