Description: Concept Reminiscent of an ancient family courtyard in one of Peking's fast disappearing hutongs (courtyard houses set between narrow lanes), Hutong’s interiors are set against the most breathtaking skyline of any international metropolis. This is not the only surprise. The sense of adventure and sheer avant-garde creativity continues in the innovating cuisine inspired by the culinary styles of Peking and Shandong province.International accolades Michelin Guide (Hong Kong & Macau) One Star Award Dec 2009Michelin Guide (Hong Kong & Macau) One Star Award Dec 2008Asia's Top 20 Restaurants – The Miele Guide 2008/2009Asia Best Restaurant Award – Asian Legal Business 2007Destin Asian February/March 2006Capital HMC – Luna Treasure February 2006Prestige (HK) – Luna Treasure February 2006Hong Kong’s best restaurants – Condé Nast Traveller – Hot Tables (UK) May 2005Wallpaper (UK) March 2005Condé Nast Traveller (UK) November 2004Vogue Entertaining + Travel (Australia) Aug 2004Travel + Leisure (US) August 2004Cuisine Contemporary northern Chinese with inspiration from the Sichuan and Shandong provinces, and some traditional Peking dishes

This is one of our "must-do" restaurants when we do our brief HK stopover - extensive menu choice, great ambience and simply amazing views of Hong Kong Harbour! I agree with some other reviewers about the oddly awkward wooden seats, and the dimly lit and somewhat difficult to negotiate toilets, but there is an ambience and vibe in this restaurant... More

We were celebrating two 70th birthdays at this stunning place. The food is exceptional and the views as well. The service is to the point and you get the right attention from the staff. If you need the wow factor this is the place (at least for guests from overseas).

Took guests here who wanted somewhere Chinese but with a wow factor. First impressions are fine - nice view, furnishings - and then you sit down on the extremely uncomfortable wooden chairs. Very odd in a place like this. Menu looked really tempting and was a refreshing change from the Canto stuff served in most Chinese restaurants in HK. Unfortunately... More

An awesome place to take a visitor to show them the harbour views. Menu is extensive with something for everyone. Try a few random dishes... Don't go for the traditional beef and chicken and you will be pleasantly surprised. Ambiance is pretty good, but as many comment it's very dark. I guess that makes the city lights look brighter outside..... More

The place is nicely decorated and the view is HK's skyline so quite beautiful. They seem to have spent a lot on the furnishings so I wonder why the chairs were so uncomfortable. Anyway, the service staff were quite good, very attentive and most spoke english. The food -- it was ok but nothing great. For the starter, we had... More

A magnificent view on the Hong Kong skyline, and the restaurant is well decorated. The food was not bad, but not memorable at all. In our opinion (and we visited a lot of restaurants in our life) they overestimate their establishment. I'm sure Gordon Ramsey of Kitchen nightmares would agree, if we send him there. I hope Michelin reevaluates this... More

This place has good Chinese food, friendly service as well and a great choice of interesting dishes on the menu. I really liked the rustic style of interior design, however for me it was all about the view. To see the island at night get a seat looking towards the window and enjoy one of the most spectacular harbour scenes... More

The good One of the best views of the harbor (When the weather allows.) Food was okay but you would expect good quality at this price point. Nice interior with many antique objects The not so good Service was inconsistent. Server initially started explaining dishes but explanations were skipped for other courses Dark and noisy Very touristy including a gimmicky... More

The last time I was here was on a business trip, about 3 years ago. On this trip to HK was with my family, so wanted to go somewhere special. Hutong was the obvious choice, especially for a window side view. Reserved about 3 weeks ahead, and received the promised window side table. View of HK and the harbour as... More

I'll try to keep it short. Atmosphere, way too dark. I don't understand the owner's concept or reason for that. The decor is fun, with very authentic traditional Chinese furniture and dissembled architecture used as decorations. We sat by the window so we had a great view of Hong Kong island and had a chance to see the symphony of... More
