Concept Reminiscent of an ancient family courtyard in one of Peking's fast disappearing hutongs (courtyard houses set between narrow lanes), Hutong’s interiors are set against the most breathtaking skyline of any international metropolis. This is not the only surprise. The sense of adventure and sheer avant-garde creativity continues in the innovating cuisine inspired by the culinary styles of Peking and Shandong province.International accolades Michelin Guide (Hong Kong & Macau) One Star Award Dec 2009Michelin Guide (Hong Kong & Macau) One Star Award Dec 2008Asia's Top 20 Restaurants – The Miele Guide 2008/2009Asia Best Restaurant Award – Asian Legal Business 2007Destin Asian February/March 2006Capital HMC – Luna Treasure February 2006Prestige (HK) – Luna Treasure February 2006Hong Kong’s best restaurants – Condé Nast Traveller – Hot Tables (UK) May 2005Wallpaper (UK) March 2005Condé Nast Traveller (UK) November 2004Vogue Entertaining + Travel (Australia) Aug 2004Travel + Leisure (US) August 2004Cuisine Contemporary northern Chinese with inspiration from the Sichuan and Shandong provinces, and some traditional Peking dishes

Nothing special

We booked a window seat for 6 to enjoy a meal and see the light show across the harbour. We chose the tasting menu. All were well presented but lacked any real wow factor. We booked as advised that is a great spot to watch the HK light show in the evening. That is all it is. We found the service to be slow and the food to be unappetising. Seems to be trading on its position and attracting tourists who care more for the view than the food. And the light show is... More

Hutong was very quiet on the evening we ate here. Two days before New Year . Our experience was of unrushed efficiency. Our food choices were all lovely and in one or two cases the best example of a particular dish that we have ever had . The decor, many floors up in the sky was a replica of an... More

I hadn't heard of Hutong before dining there (the concierge at the Mandarin Oriental booked it for us) but I understand they have a place at the Shard in London and quite a reputation. The view of Hong Kong harbour is spectacular as you dine and they did a noodle making show as we ate, the food is also OK... More

Bad food, got ripped off, manager only interested in billing and not customer satisfaction. Slow service, bad food, bad attitude. Never coming back.

I booked a table by the window with plenty of time to enjoy their menu while planning to watch the skyline come to life for the light show. I was really excited as the menu seemed to have quite the variety and I was interested to try many things. The view was fantastic but the food was absolutely horrible. We... More

The tight schedule, rediculously high prices and too quick service make the dinner feel rushed and fake. Food is great still and so is the lovely view. But dragging the cook to the restaurant floor to make live noodles and get his picture taken feels awkward while enjoying a 500 USD dinner.

This was my third visit to Hutong and it was my favourite so far! I've always had a high opinion of this restaurant and I've never been disappointed. I took my girlfriend here for a special meal as we'd just got engaged and we were really well looked after. We got a great seat in the window and enjoyed the... More

Beautiful restaurant, great food, service and wine selection. Everything about this place is spot on. If you want to impress you fellow diner, take them here!
