Description: Agave offers a menu showcasing regional specialties and creative dishes from Guadalajara, Mexico’s second most populated city, as well as Jalisco. Ingredients used such as various chilies, cactus and fresh green tomatillos are imported from Mexico, whilst our tortillas are handmade on site. Guests can try our wide selection of tequilas or savor our well-known margaritas at the long bar. The ambience is authentically Mexican as vivid oranges and reds exhibit the unique architectural style of Luis Barragán, one of the most influential Mexican architects of the 20th Century.

Went for lunch with a group of 6 after passing a few enjoyable evenings here over the years. The set lunch was a reasonable price: soup or chicken tostada followed by pork chop, chicken leg or a fish fillet served with a choice of Mexican rice or steamed rice and steamed vegetables or refried beans, with tea or coffee for... This bar is located in quite a lively district of Wan Chai, just down the road from the MTR station. The bar is a tequila bar, and has a lot of varieties stored - the portions are quite generous. Didn't try the food myself, although on the grapevine heard that it was so-so. Definitely a good place to go for... More

I went there twice and ordered burritos. You get two burritos, covered in crème fraîche and guacamole bust almost no cheese. Inside, you have some spicy meat but not much else. That's about 180HKD. Quantity and quality-wise I was disappointed after hearing good things about the restaurant from friends. I have not had any problem with service going there. The... More

Nice restaurant and easy dining experience. Not the biggest selection of mexican food but the old favourites are there. The pitcher of margaritas were very nice. Definatley worth a visit for an inexpensive dinner. We were a crowd of 6 with two pitchers of margarita worked out about £35.0 each !

Popped into Agave yesterday for the set lunch, which, like at other restos in HK, offer great value (compared with regular menu). Soup or salad, main, coffee or tea around $60. My friend opted for zucchini soup and chili con carne. I ordered the salad and chivichanga (never saw it spelled that way, but apparently it's legit). The most popular... More

Decent food, horrendous service and utterly inflexible. Happened 3 times now, so I won't return. I arrived 5 minutes to the end of happy hour but they wouldn't give me the happy hour price (2 beers for the price of 1). This is only one of the issues with this restaurant whose manager and a particular male bartender are extremely... More

Watch the colourful world of wan chai go by do so at happy hour although we got ripped off, but no worries as the beer was cold the company god and the food tasty. Toilets were filthy sadly but then it is all about the atmosphere, reasonable place to go although a long way off Mexican cuisine per say.
