Seafood was fresh

We read a lot about this restaurant and decided to try. With a large mantis prawn, a crab and a lobster with some fried rice and a vegetable, the bill added to around HKD1,000. Lobster meat and large mantis prawn tasted better than expected. Nevertheless, seafood was fresh and good!

We are local western Hong Kongers and have lived here for 7 years. Tried the Rainbow restaurant out a few weeks back. Food is OK. Staff are absolutely useless. No idea what they are doing. Service is extremely poor. Had to ask 3-4 times for the same thing until they finally got it. Not a language thing either ... they... More

Went there with great anticipation with family. Actually it's my 3rd time there. Went twice with friends before on business trips. Thought the food was ok before and the experience of going to an off shore island for dinner was attractive. Plus they offer a free ferry ride there from TST or central. Seems like a good deal. The ferry... More

This was a great experience. We took a "junk" trip to Lamma Island and went to the Rainbow restaurant to eat. It is casual, fun and lively. The food was all very good I really loved the garlic prawns. The service was attentive and part of the fun. We had multiple excellent dishes washed down with good beer and a... More

Went to Lamma Island for a day trip and trek. Started with lunch at the Rainbow seafood restaurant. The restaurant was busy and the menu looked good. We chose deep fried squid, vegetables, Singapore noodles and garlic clams. The waiter was really disinterested and took his time to serve us. Three dishes arrived within 10 minutes, but the clams (which... More

HK¥1,400 for 3 of us for lunch, We had steamed fish, prawns, cuttlefish, mantis shrimp, fried rice. Competent enough food, but not terribly impressive. Watch out for extra charge with their 3 sauces placed on every table. Charged HK$24 for these sauces which are neither good looking nor tasty. We had no idea we would be charged for these. Tell... The walk from Yeung Shue Wan to Picnic Bay is one of the fun things to do in HK and followed by good seafood and a cold Tsing Tao beer is even better. Food was ordered in waves to avoid it all arriving at once. Salt and pepper prawns and local cockles in black bean are always a highlight. Unfortunately... More

Been there a few times before and have been telling my friends about the quality of food as well as the surprising observation about how wine was served properly (ladies first). We went on a small hike of 1.5 hours from the other end of the island and had lunch at Rainbow. We ordered the set for 8, altered one... More

This is my second time I came here. Food is very fresh but not the price though. I brought my son along as it is a good experience to travel by ferry and taste the good food. Not only will you enjoy the scenery on the way but the great seafood awaiting you. We ordered crabs with ginger, kailan with... More
