We often eat here after having done the Lamma Island walk. The first request is a compulsory cold beer. The food here is always great and we never hesitate to take overseas guests - even the fussy clean freaks ! Everything is so fresh and the staff are very attentive. Definitely recommend this as one of Lamma's best restaurants -... More

There is no doubt that this is a long trip to get to the restaurant, but that is definitely part of the experience as you really do get to see a lot of HK Island. The food is worth the trip as it is definitely fresh (still swimming in most cases). Do not be put off by the décor as... More

The restaurant offers a free boat service to and from Lamma island from the pier at Central or TST as long you eat there. 30 mins by boat with the Hong Kong skyline as a backdrop, Lamma island is like stepping back in time. The boat drops you off at a village lined with seafood restaurants. The seafood at Rainbow... More

The food was excellent the prawns outstanding. looking over the harbour it was very peaceful and as it was a Monday not busy. The menu itself is large and caters for most tastes. My first time in Lamma Island and i had heard about the seafood experience in Lamma... This time round, i brought my family to do a little hiking before we reached Sok Kwu Wan for seafood. I had read through some review on Rainbow Seafood Restaurant and had wanted to try. Thus we went directly to this restaurant. Menu was... More

We were ferried from a Hong Kong Island pier on an amply sized private ferry. After a 30 minute ride over a choppy sea we arrived at this small fishing village, and saw the Rainbow Seafood Restaurant. One side of this establishment was filled to the rafters with tanks full of all kinds of sea creatures, from the common place... More

The ferry ride over was quite bizarre as we were the only ones on a massive boat. Could have been the start of a horror movie - thankfully it wasn't. There were lots of dinners in the restaurant but we were served quickly. They had little left as had had a busy day. We were seated at 745 so hardly... More

Visited this place for a dinner trip by boat from HK. Having never been there before we wondered what to expect - we were pleasantly surprised! Very fresh seafood that you choose from the tanks - prepared the way you want it. Service was a little slow but there were a couple of large business groups there the night we... More

Cripsy squid rice and noodles were all good quality but waiting an hour for alll the dishes with no come back when we enquired after our missing food was annoying. Others were suffering similar frustrations on the tables round us. The view is great and if you kick back and take your time you will enjoy it.

Rainbow Seafood on Lamma Island is on our list of "must visit" whenever we are in Hong Kong. We like the seafood there as it is fresh and tasty. Top on our list is the squilla (mantis prawns) fried in salt and pepper. They are priced individually and if the size is small, we have two each. Sea prawns cooked... More
